sorry,

I meant what happened to you that caused your sins to be forgiven?

in the OT. A sacrifice had to be given. Did someone make a sacrifice for your past sins?
Ah now we get into who the Atonement was for. I am still getting this straight after believing the conventional view for a long time. The blood was taken into the Holy of Holies correct? So it was for holiness.

Is the blood required for forgiveness?

Of course @Eternally Grateful ....do keep up Ritajanice, hahahalol.

Jesus had to die and take our sins on the cross..otherwise there would be no forgiveness.

Good job someone knows their Bible..as in EG...LOL

No blood shed from Jesus..no forgiveness...he was the perfect LAMB..LOL...who took the sins of the whole world....he’s our card back to God...Praise His Holy Name.

Without the death of Jesus..the whole world would be in complete and utter darkness.

What a terrible thought...but a true one.

Maybe the shedding of blood was on top of the death of Christ. He died for our sins but shed His blood for our holiness.

I believe Jesus meant the second option. A person can't recognize or identify the kingdom of God unless God has opened his or her eyes and ears, which he describes as "born again."

You have a lot of theological opinions that are not true.

Listen.

God opening the EYES, by the Holy spirit is..>"coming to the KNOWLEDGE of the Truth".

This is..."Tasted the Heavenly gift"

But that is not "born again"......as you can have this understanding, but not take it to FAITH, and without faith, there is no Salvation given by God.
There is no "born again", created.

See, to KNOW the Truth, is not the same as FAITH given to God, that He accepts to then "impute righteousness" and cause the New Birth.

I thought I read heart in @CadyandZoe post....of course the heart must be opened by God to receive being birthed in/ by the Spirit.....then we have those spiritual eyes and ears.

And of course believing in the Name of Jesus must come first.

John 11:25-26. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Because of Jesus' resurrection, we can live a forgiven life.

1Corinthians 15
14] And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. [15] Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

You can look to lev 16, But I will highlite some verses here

Lev 16: 6 “Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

11 “And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering which is for himself.

15 “Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat. 16 So he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins

30 For on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

33 then he shall make atonement for]the Holy Sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tabernacle of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34 This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.”

The atonement was to wash the sin of the people. for forgiveness.

If the people were holy. then there would have been no need to atonement. Because they would have no sin.

Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

To lead a forgiven life, it’s imperative that we are Born from Above, Without that, there is NO Living relationship with God through the Holy Spirit..

We are still dead and in sin, alienated from God.

Is this not the anointing (coming on or in) of the HS and not the baptism.

I think alot of people get this confused.

It's the baptism that comes only by Christ and is supernatural power of God.

Luke 3:16 (KJV) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

It does not say for forgiveness. It is for cleansing. They could be forgiven but not holy.
if your sins are cleansed your forgiven.

No one is holy according to the law.

but we can be holy (set apart) in our walk..

but the sin issue must be taken care of first. that is why we must be born again

yes 1 cor 12 is the baptism of the spirit thank you

But the HS coming into or on you is the anointing.

those are two different works of the HS in our salvation.

I thought I read heart in @CadyandZoe post....of course the heart must be opened by God to receive being birthed in/ by the Spirit.....then we have those spiritual eyes and ears.

God does open the eyes of the heart, through the Holy Spirit., but that is not the same as being "born again".

"conviction of the Holy Spirit", is Jesus saying.."If i be lifted up (0n the Cross) i will draw ALL to me."

However, a person can be "stiff-necked".. they can "trod underfoot the Gospel", they can "do despite to the SPIRIT of Grace"' who is opening their eyes, inwardly, to the truth of the Gospel.

"Christ Rejection" is to have all this, and refuse it...to resist it.

That is Hebrews 10:26

That is Acts 28:28

This rejection of God's Holy Spirit that is opening the inner man's eyes....happens to millions.
If you could interview the people who died and went to Hell this last 2000 yrs, they'd tell you... "Yeah, i knew it was true, i knew i should have have BELIEVED"...
It happens every sunday in protestant churches, when the Minister gives an "alter call", and says..

"every head bowed and every eye closed.." and gives the listeners a chance to BELIEVE IN JESUS..

And what happens to many?
They are CALLED by the CROSS, by the Grace of God, by the Holy Spirit, and they KNOW its true., and they RESIST.

They come to the Knowledge of the Truth....

And then the devil speaks to them, inside, and He says..."if you go to that alter, you'll have to come back every Sunday"
"If you go to that alter, if you trust in Christ, you can't have any more FUN"...
"if you go down there, you'll going to look so stupid".. "come back later when you are wearing better clothes"....
And Satan will say...>"who are you kidding, you are not serious"... "who are you kidding.... you were just fornicating last night with your next door neighbor (again) ,..... God is not going to have FILTH like you, as His own"..

See that?

That is always going on, or something like it... , and always will, in the heart of someone whom God calls to come and be Saved.

can you show this in John 3?

John 3:6-15 (KJV) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

okay that seems to say so. What is the Greek I wonder.

Avoid it., and avoid people who try to correct the word of God with "greek" they can't read., or even if they can, you dont want to have as your teacher a BIBLE corrector.

Satan was one of those, in Genesis, when He said..."hath God said"..

And now, BIBLE correctors do the same, using "greek" and deception.

Trust a real bible.
Trust a bible believe to teach you Paul's Doctrine.
Join a bible believing Church that is entirely = not related to John Calvinism.
