the holy spirit coming in or being poured out on you is an anointing

What does this mean?..an anointing, do you mean for God’s service?
You being baptized by God is the baptism..

they are two different events.

think of the holy oil being poured on the OT priests to anoint them.. this happened after the blood was shed to cleans them

What does this mean?
when I am baptized into Christ, that is the work of the spirit

when the Holy Spirit comes into me,, that is another work.. It is called anoint.

I take people to moses and the priests..

first they were washed,, this signified being baptized

finally they oil was poured on them to anoint them.. this signified the HS coming in or on you

If we look at the disciples and their journey, we see that they were believers following Christ. Very poorly though, they barely understood Him at times, and would quarrel amongst themselves.

Then when He had arisen, He came to them and breathed on them the Holy Spirit. This changed things drastically for them as now they were of one accord. I understand this to be Illumination. Then followed Pentecost when things changed again for them and they were bold and fearless, some poor fishermen but acting like theologians.

Three stages in their walk, the same number as the ECF taught.

yes,

but they were saved long before this..

remember this hidden mystery, it is why they could not understand.. their eyes were opened when they saw christ..

It doesn't say they were saved anywhere.

Jesus came to save us from our sins. Therefore we are not saved from them if they are still present. Logic.

When were the disciples free from sins? After Pentecost.

He’s already in you, why would he won’t to come in again, .

I thought anointing was, to become a teacher, a prophet.

Don’t worry about explaining @Eternally Grateful ..I understand now.

To be anointed by God is to be filled with all the fullness of God so that you can faithfully do his work in this world. “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence” (2 Peter 1:3).

And that is the SAME situation, with 30 Greek Extant New Testament, manuscripts.
That is the same situation, you face, if you go to a Bible Book Store and by 8 different Lexicons, that do not agree on verses.

Just do this.....
Do not trust anyone, as your NT instructor.... or any commentary.... that tells you that the "Original Greek" is superior to the word of God (Bible)
Why not?
Because there is no Original Greek text.
Its all copies, and there are 30 NEW TESTAMENTS in Greek.

The only "originals" were the Apostle's letters, and we can't get those.. @Eternally Grateful

So, just get away from "study helps", and all this side track time wasting situation, and just read a real bible.
And be sure to listen to a teacher that is showing you what im showing you.
Sometimes the messages of Bible teachers are only to be found in written form. Has anyone ever received a message from God by the things written by people on this forum?

He stated that you can be born again Twice.

Azim said:
""""I wonder if people view a second BORN AGAIN experience""""

Born again.......Twice? How about 40 times? 50?

Marks did not quote my entire original post, only the part he wanted to discuss with me. My original post does not have me stating being born again twice as a fact or teaching. It was asking another member about it, who has shared about being born again twice. So I was wondering if someone experienced such a thing, could it be instead a powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit?

Surely the only time we can receive the fullness of God....is to fully surrender to his will?

Die to flesh?...will this ever happen in this lifetime?

Online source.

To be filled with the fullness of God is to be conscious of and yielded to God's presence, strength, care for others, spiritual authority, moral excellence and character(holiness, righteousness, love). God wants us to be filled with his fullness both individually and collectively, as the Church of Christ

I think we have a long way to go..LOL

Yes, God has fed me his words at times through a few members on here...imo/ belief...I always check out what they say with God’s word.

Have you ever received a message from God through your spirit?..as in penetrated and spoke to your heart?

I did once after I became Born Again..scared me silly it did...I was in shock..I couldn’t receive it either because I didn’t understand itbas a new babe.

I understand it now and it’s coming to fruition, unfortunately I can’t share it at the moment..hopefully one day I will be able....as God will be hugely Glorified.

My testimony and belief.

Anointing by the Holy Spirit is to be baptized into the life, death and resurrection of Christ when His Spirit is in us. It is through His anointing that we continue to abide in Christ.

1 John 2:27 (KJV) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The Spirit, though not permanently in chosen men of old, is often said to have come upon them for a specific purpose. But the anointing we receive through Christ's Holy Spirit since Christ has come is how we have come into the spiritual Kingdom of God, and He shall be with us always. No need for a further anointing, we need only to be obedient to the prompting from the Spirit in us.

Strong's Greek Dictionary
5545. χρῖσμα chrisma (chrîsma)

Search for G5545 in KJVSL; in KJV.

χρῖσμα chrîsma, khris'-mah - from G5548; an unguent or smearing, i.e. (figuratively) the special endowment ("chrism") of the Holy Spirit:—anointing, unction.

Yes, indeed! I have been a member of this forum since 2008 and of other forums prior to that. I do not often or even easily change my point of view or belief, but it has happened on many occasions as a result of what people have posted.

so what about the ones who died before pentecost?
I believe that a man who submits entirely to God is saved whenever in history it occurs so I believe that men were saved in the OT times and that for many it could be on their deathbeds.

Does not Scripture show us we are saved from sins penalty, which is bondage to death? All mankind, even when the Holy Spirit is in us still on occasion choose to sin. We shall not be free from sins until we are no longer clothed in bodies destined to death and corruption. Christ came to set us free from this bondage to corruption and death for whosoever believes in Him and is born again of His Spirit.
