…and all who worship him must do so in spirit and in truth.

For such a brief statement it carries a mighty punch because it tells us many things.

It tells us that, like Almighty God, we too, can have a strong spiritual presence.

How?

By following the accurate teaching of the one who told us about spiritual truth…Jesus Christ.

He tells us that God will not listen to worship which isn’t inspired by Jesus’s accurate teaching and he tells us that a spirit is a real, living, being…a replica of our flesh that carries our true identity.

Many ignore this teaching but there is one, over-riding, message, which shouldn’t be ignored by a Christian, which is, it is our spirit that, like Jesus, can be resurrected…and, at Judgment time, it is our individual spirit, righteous or otherwise, that will decide that outcome.

It is indeed a very powerfull word... It destroys all the religion man has made of Christianity!

Eternal life (which is not only a duration, but a type of life) comes by the Spirit. By the Spirit we are led. He leads us to speak. He leads us to be quiet. He leads us to be strong. He leads us to be humble. He gives us words of wisdom, corrections, rebukes. He gives us life, joy and peace, and tests us to see if we are faithfull when we do not see him anymore and do not feel his presence anymore!

It is indeed a glorious thing! :D

Thankyou for your response Prentis. From the few posts of yours I have read it is plain that you have a sincere desire to follow Jesus' accurate word. My experience is that it is a slow but progressive path...as it must be, when you consider just how far removed, many are from it.

Almighty God has said that his Judgment is slow because he wants as many as possible to return to righteousness. There is no half measure, which God describes as luke warm, it is all the way else nothing. The reason is simple...the mechanics of the universe is the authority which God and Jesus are well versed in and which their authority, over mankind, is etched out of. To follow Jesus accurately, is to bring God's universal science into our lives...in a righteous and repairing way,

Indeed, few will enter.

Although I have to admit, I would not call following Jesus a science... Much to the opposite! Following Jesus requires that we believe the leading of the Spirit OVER what our five senses tell us, and ultimately that means over worldly science (knowledge).

The Spirit is not natural, it is as a matter of fact not understood by what is natural (physical, carnal). To follow the Lord is to deny the flesh (crucify it), and live by the Spirit.

Blessings to you :)

Have you got any idea about the context for this verse, when it is talking about?
