Hi there,
So we are all children of God, right? And what does that mean, but that we are heirs of spirit? And why? Because we were created as spirit-beings from the very outset and thus understand that all things of God have a spiritual significance. Does this empower us? Yes, but it also entangles us: because we wrestle with the flesh. The flesh supports the spirit, but only weakly - therefore the weakness of the flesh tries to supplant the spirit, or at least its essence. The point of this? Greater Spirit! Spirit which through exercise can Lord it over the flesh, that despite being weak, it still fufilled the Spirit. And the Spirit wants to be fulfilled!
So why does God make Spirit before flesh? If the Spirit is at the core of our being, all things spiritual will be open to us, right? Added to that is foreknowledge without the flesh, by which the flesh can be steered. Steered and brought to center on the life of the Spirit, in the temple (not made with hands, if you remember the scripture). That is, the flesh when completed, is inset with the temple whose essence is for the Spirit. If the temple is for the Spirit, then the flesh is sacrificed on its altar. If the flesh is sacrificed, then the burden of the Spirit is released! Thus the soul flourishes and desires the things of the Spirit within it and so justifies the sacrifice in mercy. But is there spiritual power?
Spiritual power, comes from the Holy Spirit. When we see that our soul prospers well, in the fear of God, the Holy Spirit comes alongside to show that the Spirit of God may indeed indwell the spirit within the temple within the man. We are set free to serve God, even before we know what end the Spirit within us is taking. And we have this assurance, that just as it was for life in Christ's resurrection, so it will be for life in ours (our resurrection). So the Spirit is enlarged actually, such that even our temple within can't contain it and we being to do great an miraculous things, just as Jesus did. And we know that these things must have been prepared by God, knowing that our spirit would overcome. So how do we govern ourselves?
The answer of the tongue, in the body of so great a Spirit, is in fact the nuance of this relationship to God who - when dwelling in us - longs to hear the words of our love working between us and Him. He can empower us, but better to empower us in a relationship of love, than with sounding gongs that effect no inspiration. If we are truly inspired we can do all things, but only the Love of God can sustain them. God does not rush in this context. The centrality of this, is the joy that we are able to bring other like spirited people into a relationship with God with Us. God does not leave us, but rather reaches to others through us, that we might be One just as Jesus was One. This is a mysterious and miraculous thing! But what happens to the Spirit, in the end?
If the Spirit was first in Creation, then we can only imagine it will be last in Destruction. This is comforting, especially when you consider that so many things will be happening in Heaven, once this world is over with. I am not saying that Destruction will creep in for the faith, once this world is destroyed, I am saying the hardest thing to destroy, will be waiting in service of us! This is a difficult thing to understand at first, but the time is coming and now is when it will be revealed to the world. The enemy would like to think that we will be shaken, but this is not the way of the Spirit we first had. The Holy Spirit was with us in the beginning, from within and cannot now be quashed as not responding to the oppression of God, which wounds us all.
I hope this has been of some encouragement.
God bless.
