Light is a reference to the spirit, and it is the eye that is the light of the body:Jesus had just healed a boy born blind, and the Pharisees wouldn’t hear it. John 9:26-29 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? [27] He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? [28] Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples. [29] We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow , we know not from whence he is.
In verse 39 Jesus says: “For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.”
John 9:35-41
[35] Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? [36] He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? [37] And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. [38] And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. [39] And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. [40] And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? [41] Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
“If you were blind, you should have no sin: but now you say, you see; therefore your sin remains.

1 John 5;17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not unto death.
What is the true nature of the gospel you speak of? Is it according to self-interest of is it concerned with the things of God?

1 John 5:17 must be read in light of Mark 3:28-29:
28) Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29) But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
2 John !:9
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth NOT in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son
To God Be The Glory
Actually those two Scriptures are TOTALLY UNRELATED.1 John 5:17 must be read in light of Mark 3:28-29:
28) Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29) But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
2 Timothy 3:7God gives grace (power) to the humble....but He resists the proud.
Many claim to understand the things of God. But few actually do. All the others are posers. They are very pushy and proud in what they consider as truth...but it is really just an opinion.
When another whom God has given the truth to tries to correct their opinion....they react thinking that it is just another opinion. So then, these proud ones never learn anything....although they are presented with the truth. God will not give them more of a chance than that. If they don't humble themselves to learn from others, God will leave them in blindness. If they would humble themselves and open their minds and hearts.....just even to try to hear others...God would indeed confirm His truth to them. But this they will never do.
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Humility is safety...knowing we are not offending God or anyone with this posture. It is better to be uplifted than debased.2 Timothy 3:7
7 "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Stiff necked. I think I would prefer to humble myself rather than let God do it, lol.
BTW-nice new Avatar!

I'm very sorry to hear that I've died and come back to live a myriad of times in my life.
You're very lucky to never sin.
We can't all be like you.
Oh, and
John 13:35
I’ll wager you do not understand the meaning of love in biblical terms. And, if you did I’ll apologize.

1. I've always told you that you're one of the lucky few.The word “lucky” is NEVER in my vocabulary! Every thing I have I received from God (John 3:27). I read and obey the Scripture “by faith.”
Perhaps you should read Romans 7 and 1 John 3:9.
ha, even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then i guess lol
I would say that the place of darkness is within unredeemed men. God has given us a choice between His Light or our own darkness. Adam and Eve chose darkness. The rest of us were born into darkness but God has made His Light available to us.How can God fill all things and there still remain that which God does not fill, being a place separated from the presence of God? He said: “...that he might fill all things.” What is this place of darkness that God does not fill? If His presence is not there then God will not fill All things.
What are you thinking of specifically when you refer to the place of darkness ViJ ?
This also resulted in the teachings of Christ being presented as parables, so that *seeing they would not see*.
What are you thinking of specifically when you refer to the place of darkness ViJ ?
Yes, this is right until they are consumed and the darkness will be complete for them. Where will the darkness be then? Gone! The outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
1. I've always told you that you're one of the lucky few.
2. Does John contradict himself in 1 John 3:9 and 1 John 2:1 ??
3. How much did you bet?
Please answer no. 2
