There is an importance to understanding the Jesus Christ is the Word of God - meaning that His Father gave Him all things including the very words of God for us. The importance is that we can seek Him and find Him - meaning we can talk with God and actually get to know the living Word of God (Jesus Christ the Son and Word of God). And who wouldn't want to talk to God, right? - Wrong! We tend to not want to talk to God!
In fact we tend to kill the Word of God in us!!
That is because we want to do what we want to do and we don't want anyone, even God, telling us what to do! So we kill the Word of God, simply by not wanting to listen to Him. Indeed, we pretend that He is not even there with us!!
We don't even like to think about God being there and knowing all the little things we don't do right (our sin because all unrighteousness is sin).
So to show us that He still loves us even though we hate Him. Thus a plan was laid out in heaven for Him, the very Son of God who is the Word of God and King, to take on flesh. Of course that would mean that the evil spirits with men would kill Him, because they had been killing the Word of God (not listening to Him) to this day. So on that day dreadful and disgusting day when men and evil came together to kill Him in the flesh (which we call "Good Friday" in remembrance of it) He was killed the most painful way we could think of and put on display. Which is exactly what we do to Him to this day. Is not our killings and corruption the very things we like to display in the news today? We like to display death and call it good, instead of displaying God and calling Him good.
And yet He, The Word of God, rose again and defeated death! On that day that we remember as Easter, and we like because we have a fictional chanter called the Easter bunny, many people actually do take a moment, with the help of His Holy Spirit, to think about Him being killed by us and still He is their to talk to us personally. Many will go to church, and think about what happened because the leader of the church will tell them about it. And for a brief moment in time many will realize inside that they too kill the Word of God in them, and turn and listen to His Spirit working in them. And so He will rise up in them and give them life.
If course tomorrow that we all be over with and we can go back to killing the Word of God in us, right? Probably, but a seed will have been planted and if perchance that seed takes root and grows in the person they He can live in them everyday called "Today". They can talk back and forth with Him at work, at the store, while driving, and so on. Sadly, most of the seeds do grow. but just a remnant remains. Of course a remnant can become a great multitude with time. Even a great multitude from every nation, but what about those in which the seeds don't grow?
We don't want them to die, do we? Well Satan does, but we tell them to not kill the Word of God in them. So listen to Him everyday called Today, and not just Easter!
