King of kings and Lord of lords

The titles King of kings and Lord of lords are applied in scripture to both God the Father and Jesus the Son.

To God the Father:
1 Timothy 6:15 which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

And twice to the Lord Jesus:
Revelation 17:14 They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

And 19:16. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.

The phrase lord of lords is used by itself in Scripture twice and refers to God the Father:

Deuteronomy 10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord;

And:
Psalm 136:3 . Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever

In Revelation 19:16 Jesus is given the full title “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 17:14 switches it: “Lord of lords and King of kings”). The title indicates someone who has the power to exercise absolute dominion over all His realm.

This is a beautiful confirmation of the deity of Christ. Just like Christ is called "almighty". Almighty by definition means there is none mightier, which throws the theories of some that Jesus is less than God under the bus.

I always hear the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah when I read those verses. :)

Exactly... Hallelujah!

Absolute confirmation of the deity of Jesus. But we can be sure somebody will deny it. Sadly.
