Jesus never said those words together. Never. Prove it. That is YOUR mistake.
So what, much of scripture is that way. Both are true. The Holy Spirit knows...and so do I.

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.”

Believe or don't. So be it.

and repenting from sins

Repenting from sins does not save anyone. "For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 NET

Luke wrote the book of Acts and didn't know a single work of English. Luke would appeal to either the Greek name for Joshua or the Hebrew.

Jesus Christ is known by many names throughout the many tongues of men. Your restricts are just that. Your restrictions.
Iesous to be technical.

Jesus sounds like Iesous to God .

Yeshua sounds like Yamaha to God.

So Paul, a 1st Century Jew, actually spoke English. I had no idea!

Are you nuts? Peter spoke Aramaic and Jesus' Semitic name was "Yeshua" (a transliteration of course). And the verse literally says "Messiah"; "Yeshua" is not mentioned by name in the early texts.

Why do you call yourself "truther"?
Jesus had a Greek name..Iesous...Matt 1.

You need to get the Greek name down pat.

There is no "holy language" from God.

Modernists made up a "Semitic" name.

Repenting from sins does not save anyone

So Jesus Christ, Who is Almighty God, either got it wrong, or misled us, or both? This is what Jesus Himself actually says

Mark 1;
14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, 15 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand;repent and believe in the gospel.”

Luke 24:47;

"and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem"

And the main Apostle, Peter, who followed the Teachings of the Lord, also got it wrong?

Acts 2;

"37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

And the Apostle Paul also got it wrong?

2 Corinthians 7:10

"For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death"

What you are saying is called, HERESY!

...and being baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins.

No, baptism is a WORK, something that we must DO, and cannot save anyone! If it did, then the thief on the cross, who Jesus said would be with Him in heaven after he died, is actually in Hades, because he was not water baptised! This passage in itself, completely destroys the HERESY, that sinners must be water bapitsed as part of being saved!

I’m sure he’ll come up with some theological fair speech to explain why this is not so…

All believers of false doctrine have been well prepared to be invincible to scripture by their cunning teachers.

No one can really knows how Yeshua is pronounced. The Hebrew language is difficult and most overstate what they think they know of it.

I’m sick of the games that people play around here with the Bible.

1Co 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1Co 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

These folks think Jesus said "...he that believeth and is NOT baptized shall be saved...".

They are really messed up.

Great post.

Repentance and confessing are works.

Even a human deciding is a work.

Get to work.

Yes, such happens when someone invents a name to replace "Jesus".
