Not appealing for sure. My dogs, when they were pups, used to love to catch and eat certain kinds of grasshoppers--the ones with big wide bodies and short legs. They ignored other kinds. Go figure! LOL

Seriously, the powers-that-be are pushing the idea of eating insects. There are apparently 7 million different species of insects and many of them have beneficial nutrients in them, it seems. When the elites start eating them, I'll think about it. Interesting that there are 7 million species of insects and only one kind of human--homo sapien sapiens.

I hear they are quit delicious, with some honey. I have always wanted to try them, Many years ago my brother worked at a fancy Deli- and I was able to try some dipped in chocolate, but they just tasted like chocolate!! LOL
we are seeing a lot more grasshopper's here in Arizona?

Did you wear clothes made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around your waist too? :D

In case you haven't read the old testament. Grasshoppers and Locusts are just about the only Kosher insects (ritually clean.) Same thing happened in Mecca in January: Plague of Tens of Thousands of Locusts Descends on Mecca, Islam's Sacred City
In recent news, we also have brain eating amoeba in North Carolina lakes, flesh eating bacteria in the gulf off Florida, and an "uptick" in Equine encephalitis transmitted by mosquitos in Florida. Every day is a day closer to His return. Life goes on.

I must wonder why some people, including followers of Christ, still think that things will get better if only...they pray hard enough so as to move His hand, vote correctly in the poles...blah blah. He has already told us what to expect, warned us what to watch for (many references to that) and that is exactly what we are getting. Nothing (IMHO) on this earth will be getting "better" - at least from a Christians world view.

... Life goes on.

Yep, but not "as always". As I understand Bible Prophecy, we're almost 15 months into the 42 month Tribulation, and I'm waiting for Ezekiel 38 to blow up:

Ezekiel 38:10 “Thus says the Lord God: On that day thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme 11 and say, ‘I will go up against the land of unwalled villages; I will fall upon the quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates’;

... where the "unwalled villages" are the oil tanker merchant ships, one of which the Iranians took captive. So it's not just "plagues", -- it will include a regional war which will escalate in to a "forced UN participation"; which will result in global thermonuclear war.

So I guess comparatively, that makes TODAY a GOOD DAY! :)

I've believed for a long time that God called me to a prophetic role in the Church (I don't believe I'm biblically qualified for anything else I suppose.) The Lord put it in my spirit (or in my mind) that I would become separated from my wife and shortly afterwards I'd see the worst scenarios I've been anticipating for most of my life. Well, I was forced to leave my home on October 13th of 2017, and pretty much lost everything. God has been busy restoring my fortunes, but things in the world have been looking a bit worse every day. A fellow named Joel Rosenberg wrote an interesting book analyzing the deteriorating conditions in the middle east in light of the prophetic writings of Ezekiel, back in 2006. I gave my copy away a few years ago to a coworker, but bought a digital version a few weeks back and gave it another read. Maybe he's right, I don't know.
When I enlisted in the USAF back in 1982, I agreed for the sake of my recruiter to apply for a job as a crypto logic linguistic specialist. Before I disqualified myself for the same in order to pursue my own real interest in radio electronics, I had requested Arabic as the language I would study in the USAF language school. Most people were learning Russian and the recruiter was amused that I wanted to learn Arabic, but I explained to him that "that's were the next big war will be." I was wrong if you count Grenada, but the Gulf war was fought about 3 years after I was discharged. Nothing happening now surprises me. I was born to be a witness to these days, and I suppose so were most people alive now.

Have you studied the Book of Daniel:

Daniel 12:4 But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
9 He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.

.. and the Prophetic Psalms (Ref. J.R. Church, "Hidden Prophecies In The Psalms" -- the concept, not necessarily the book)?

We're over 14 months into the 42 month Tribulation. :)

That is an awesome story. Thank you for your service and love the branch, lol. I too was 4 active and 3 reserve in the USAF. I entered in February of 1981. I chose the AF because my mom was in the AF during the Korean war...you and I, the Cold War so, that deciding to learn Arabic was obv. prophetic, Imho.

That makes three of us, but not by choice. I was #7 in the DRAFT (the last year, in 1973), and I didn't want to be in the Military, so I joined the Air Force. ;) My AFSC was 363, Teletype Maintenance, only because they offered 31 weeks of Tech School, versus what we disparagingly called the "9-week wonders" (different AFSC) because it took us 31 weeks to learn what they only required 9 weeks to learn. :D

But with ALL MY MILITARY TRAINING, I'll be happy to get through the next 2 plus years!

You probably know that John the Baptist ate locusts and wild honey while he was preaching out in the wilderness. Protein, fat (grasshoppers have a lot of protein and beneficial fat, it seems) and carbohydrates. Yum--yum. :p

Well all this is true, and I have heard from reliable sources that they have a nutty taste, and crunchy. the honey is a given!
I think I will try to find a recipe on line, like other thing's I have learned to make!

I suspect that major cities will suffer the most, but nothing confines an outbreak so even rural communities are susceptible. It seems the best option (and NO options are PERFECT) is to do as Abraham and go into the mountains, and leave the valley to others -- along with the judgements. :)

SMART ADVICE, -- and to know the WILL of the LORD is to understand what GOD has provided to the Church so that we may not be caught unaware:

1 Thess. 5:3 When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

Rev. 13:10 ... Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

Rev. 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

You know, I appreciate all the work you've gone to, but I think I'll stick with my Augason Farms:

Apparently, the people who eat them cut the head, legs and wings off of them (they aren't digestible anyway) before they dunk the rest of it in honey and pop them in their mouths. Still seems disgusting to me.

Could be, I don't know. I was born in 1956 and at that time the most popular name for newborn boys (in the west at least) was Michael. So, I suppose there are plenty of Christians out there with a life verse from Daniel Chapter 12. I've expected the world (at least as we know it) to end for practically my entire life, perhaps because my childhood was during the cold war and some of my earliest memories of world events included the Cuban missile crisis. I was raised in the Catholic faith (if you can call it that) and had a belief and trust in Jesus for as long as I can remember, yet only understood and received the gospel as true when I was 39 years old (much better than 40). When I read the scripture as a child and through more than half of my life, it gave me doubts. The first time that I got my hands on a version of scripture other than the KJV, I was literally shocked to find out that God had another name in scripture than I'd known (Jehovah instead of just LORD). Receiving the Holy Spirit when I put my trust in Jesus' sacrifice alone really changed everything. However, I was still waiting for the world to end (though now with a new kingdom and a 1000 year reign of peace.) The Lord has shown me lots of things, many of which I'd have preferred not to see. He's opened my eyes to a great deal in scripture (but there's always more to see and no end to applications.)
The world is full of darkness, the apostasy has been going on pretty steadily since about 2004 or so, the world appears to be in travail. I'm not generally surprised by anything these days and I still believe that my eyes will see Christ return in the clouds. I'm 62 now so I hope its sooner rather than later, because life now isn't nearly as pleasant as it was just a few decades ago.
