your trip to Austria and Greece for business or just a vacation?
My primary interest..historical places in Greece.
- Athens & Thesaaloniki (Thessalonians)
- Apostle Paul was there..during his second missionary journey.
---
Austria
- Interesting history..
- Austrian Empire (1804-1867)

Have you thought of extending your trip to Ephesus since it's not far from Greece? Maybe you have been there already?

@Pathfinder7

Don't forget the pics I have never been to Austria.

I love ancient history...

Athens is a gem.

I would love to visit Baalbek and the Ellora caves, rumour has it the monks were bored and chipped away the rock in creative boredom

Hello friends. I did some research about Jesus' time and shortly after. I found something odd that was buried in history.

I always enjoyed learning about our earth history, especially about our Christian history. I know that after Jesus ascension Paul was transfered to Rome, Italy. And continued there. John also went on. And of course Jerusalem and even more ancient places exist.

Would love to hear of your travels @Pathfinder7 , @Debp happy to see you around, @LittleTuneAlright good to hear from you.

There were two events that happened to Rome's luxury cities as I suspect they were. While some of the historical sites are famous, there are some that are infamous perhaps. There were troubling times back then and the lord prevailed and his children are blessed.

Two sites that are probably less mentioned are here:

The first is of course Pompeii and an excavation of that event was strange and troubling.

The second is what may be the lost city of Atlantis (Baia) which also has some pictures.

Does anyone know of the other apostles travels and sites as well as where they all ended up?

Hello Raccoon. Nice to meet you.

I know Ephesus as Deb mentioned. its a fabulous Place I went last year (that was my second time there, Turkey)

We was going to go to Patmos (which is a small Greek island where John was apparently stationed at one point and possibly wrote the book of John there?? not sure how true it is)

You can see the christian cross symbolism and some greek writing on the stone pillar at Ephesus.

And of course, Cyprus, which is equally as beautiful with great mosaics of the christian faith which is available to see at Paphos.

Not sure of any others.

Blessings in Christ

Great photo. How nice you are traveling to such interesting places.

If you ever get to Crete, check out the Takis animal shelter. In Istanbul, there's Adorable Paws...Onur helps mainly cats but some mountain dogs, too.

Ah here's one of the old favourite threads.

Good late night here in the land of Aus, how's everyone going? It's been a while since I have hopped on.

Had a little bushfire about 100m from the house a couple of days ago in the early hours of the morning.

Hello @Josho ,

happy you are ok. Just been happy checking in as well. Good weather here, hopefully no forest fires. I heard about some grasshopper stuff on the news from over there.

Cheers!

It got to 99 yesterday in downtown Los Angeles. When Summer sun comes, it will feel hotter inside. I didn't need any air conditioning....just opened door and window for ventilation.

In a couple of days will go down to upper 60s.

Growing up in Colorado, we didn't have air conditioning. Most summer days, we didn't need it, because the humidity was usually low, and the temperature would drop into the 60s (< 20C for you guys in metric countries) when the sun went down. Just make sure you have screens on the windows to keep out the bugs.

Now, the southeastern US here is almost uninhabitable during the summer without air conditioning due to the high humidity. And it never really cools off at night. We in the Western world are spoiled.

That's definitely air condition weather for me.

Once it's Summer sun, it will feel hotter inside once it gets near 90. Then I'll keep the shades closed to keep the sun out. If it's bearable I just open my wood door for ventilation. Our apartments have metal screen doors.

If it gets super hot I can put a/c on for a little while. In the evening Los Angeles cools off so I open the windows to let the air inside.

Feel better soon.

I wish we had some of your rain. I haven't heard thunder for years, maybe one bolt several months ago....down in the Los Angeles Basin. They get it in the mountains and deserts though.
