Intellectual dishonesty reigns supreme in some peoples' minds; what's odd is I guess they believe if they don't admit they're erring then that means they're right? Why do people lie? Fear? Stupidity? Honesty is the best policy even when it threatens your (pride) theological framework.

Why do politicians "serve" one term and get a lifetime pension MUCH higher than those who work for many years to earn? Oh that's right, they voted it for themselves.

Seems the same as McDonald's workers wanting the same wage as the military... Not that they do not deserve benefits, but they get furniture allowances for their houses too...

Exactly. You can show someone, over and over and over and over, a basic self evident truth and they may deny it to protect their theology. It's annoying when people just refuse to acknowledge what is plain.

I've heard that people didn't start recognizing the sky as blue hundreds of years ago, before blue was more common. Children know the sky is blue because their parents tell them that it is.
