Little things that make me Happy ~

Smells ~

Smell of burning Leaves.
Smell of a puppy's breath.
Smell of fresh sawn Lumber.
Smell of a steak on the grill.
Smell of Jasmine flowers.
Smell of cherry blend cigars.

When I was a kid my dad smoked a pipe. I used to sneak smells of his cherry tobacco, I still love the smell of it.

My dad also smoked a pipe, his twin brother did too.

I like the fresh smell of laundry.
The feeling of a full stomach
A sunny day and a good walk.
A clear road to drive the car on.
And the merry sound of laugher.

Not unreasonable at all. One year we bought a doll house for my daughter from Santa. I was putting it together Christmas eve and I had to re-drill the pilot screw holes because it would not fit together. It took me a while to figure out what was actually wrong, the instructions were so minimal I thought I was doing something wrong. I was up until about 2 am trying to get the thing together.

I love the growling bass of Steinway concert grands. (Rachmaninoff) Black gospel (New Jersey Mass Choir etc.) even if some of the lyrics are off. Black coffee and the fresh baked whole wheat bread my wife makes. Silence in nature. Logos bible software and a really fast computer. Some of the icing on my already delicious cake.

Perhaps not unreasonable, as much as expected, and disappointed when it is not so, and HAPPY when you get what you Expect.

Numerous times, you pay and then do not get what you expect.

So I guess the HAPPY part, is when you get what you expect you have paid for. :)

Outside enjoying nature / doing yard work / tending things in the woods...

God's grace is sufficient, but I have many blessings small and large:

The small are:

1. my daughter's nap time (which are usually mine too)
2. Morning Columbian coffee in a Keurig.
3. A nice fun day at the park in spring.
4. A cat cuddling up against me at night (and a husband on nights he is off)
5. Watching my daughter play and just be her happy self.

It's called getting all the sleep you can get... :)

Sleep is my drug of choice now! My Bed is my Dealer and the Alarm Clock is the Police!

Sometimes when the instruction manual is insufficient the queation comes to mind that, if the mind of man made it, can the mind of man figure it out? So it becomes a challengeand to whup it is very satisfying.
Helping people makes me happy now too.

Little things that make me happy, that are not related to God or ministry.

1.) Ice Cream... eating it.

2.) Watching A great B&W Hollywood movie, usually from the mid '30's - '1945.

3.) Writing Music ,or learning new music.

4.) Traveling

5.) I like to give people stuff. Gifts... this makes me happy.

6.) Enjoying A GOOD Book.

7.) Listening to Music, using really good Headphones.

8.) Working with Flowers, gardening.

9.) Photography

10.) I like to study Paintings, and Sculpture, and Architecture.
