Living Faith

Not everyone has a set that any man could name one by one and enumerate, but very probably most do. But... do we want be with those gathered and/or traveling or standing still as "most" or as the "many"...which go that way?

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt 7:13-14

But everyone still has beliefs.

Beliefs are not teachable but static and stubborn.

Faith is teachable..and alive seeking ways to touch the Lord's heart

Uh, I think you got it backwards, chief. You cant indoctrinate true Faith into someone. That has to come from the heart; a true response to the gospel.

Beliefs, otoh, are more doctrinal, dogmatic, structural, etc. These can be taught and written and exposited on.

Grace comes with a very high responsibility. To whom much is given MORE (not less) is required.

Uh, I think you got it backwards, chief. You cant indoctrinate true Faith into someone. That has to come from the heart; a true response to the gospel.

Beliefs, otoh, are more doctrinal, dogmatic, structural, etc. These can be taught and written and exposited on.

A person with religious beliefs is not teachable. Go find some indoctrinated person...now try teaching that person something that goes against his indoctrination...good luck.

Disagree. I think it can be said that people here hold religious beliefs, self included. I'm still learning new things each day.

A heavily indoctrinated person is a different story. But even then, their doctrine had to form at some point. Even indoctrination isn't a static thing.

If Grace is granted through Faith, and Faith is granted through Grace, then the justification that is by Faith it is not dependant upon our performance. Otherwise it would be said that Grace is owed us, which it is not.

3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

This shows that the person is still learning. It is feasible that they could eventually come to unlearn their indoctrination in such a way.

You have fully misunderstood the gospel my friend (of). Grace is the gift of the power to walk as Jesus walked. It is NOT a license to sin and get away with it.

We believe in God who justifies people from all parts of the world. The ungodly are the sinners of the world...and other religions.

But Christians are no longer ungodly. If they are then they are still dead in their sins.

Check to see if the grace of God is at work in you. If you sin...then you are walking in your own strength...not grace.

In Jesus is NO sin. Abide in Christ and live ABOVE sin.

Then that person is not religious but a seeker of truth. Faith begins in doubt and exercises doubt in a healthy way. Faith seeks the truth. Belief thinks it already has all the truth and resists everything that doesn't already line up with that way of thinking.

Um, you say that, but imo if we were to examine what is meant by "beliefs" I think we would come to see that "beliefs" the way we use the term almost exclusively deal with the past, or the future? So I have to...categorically disagree

A person who walks in their beliefs is walking with a confidence in the flesh and their 3 pound brain. A person can have NO beliefs but instead walks by faith in God. So then a living faith only states in the moment what God is doing and saying. There is no static belief.

A Christian is to have NO confidence in the flesh or his limited brain. A Christian has faith in the Lord..and HIS direction and counsel.

there are five diff ways inScripture to say "belief," and only one way to say "faith," which might interest you, and is an interesting study. But whether one holds "beliefs" or "absolute truths" is really pretty easy to determine imo? Unfort most seem to have the latter

A person with beliefs doesn't need a living God. The belief or imagination is held onto by the power of the flesh.

But a living faith doesn't work unless God is alive and brings His peace...

People have to figure this out. Either Jesus has sin in Him...meaning we can abide IN Christ and still sin...OR In Him is NO sin and we are safe there as a refuge from the things of this world which are of sin.

But you can't have it both ways to the advantage of the flesh. If we sin it is because we are walking in our own strength...which just failed us. The solution is to go back to live IN Christ.
