I find your statement to be inaccurate to what the holy scriptures teach.

At the beginning, the scriptures are not ours yet! You can't make illegitimate claims on Christ and His word until you receive the Spirit of Christ.

I am not saying that surrender to the Lordship of Christ isn't necessary.

I am saying, however, that faith in the blood of Jesus is essential.

If you have received the Spirit of Christ, the claims are legitimate.

There are also certain promises that can be obtained by someone who is just entering into faith with Christ.

This is where the mistranslation comes in. Believe and recieve is not how NT saving Faith or pisteuo is fulfilled.

There are many things that must happen in the salvation journey. They must happen and happen in the correct order. .

So you'll agree to surrender, as long as you receive something in return for such surrender. That's not a surrender, that's a business deal!

We don't get something in return for surrender; surrender doesn't appropriate the blood of Jesus: faith does.

We surrender because the Holy Spirit moves upon us and we fall in love with Jesus.

At least, that is what did it for me.

What mistranslation? I wasn't even really quoting scripture...

The words believe, believer, and believing are mistranslations of the Greek word pisteuo. The English language doesn't have a corresponding verb to the noun Faith like the Greek does. So pisteuo couldn't be correctly translated into the English language. This is how your understanding was formed.

By all means educate us as to what believing really means.

I'm not arguing with you on this; I agree with your above statement.

However, surrender doesn't obtain forgiveness; only faith in the blood of Jesus does that.

We could go through the Salvation journey, step by step. That way I could highlight the points I'm attempting to make.

Are you willing to do that?

By all means set forth what you believe.

Just know that I am a Berean who studies to shew myself approved.

Ok , at the start of the salvation journey we are drawn or called by The Father to Christ.

Agree?

Please set it forth a little faster. I may not want to stick around and wait for you to post the next thing...I may want to walk away from my computer for a while and then come back and finish.
