    God word tells us we no longer have to sacrifice animals, this is true. It was both the law that was added and then changed! But nowhere did GOD ever do away with His dietary laws!

    Paul kept them! Which is why he said he believed "..ALL things which are written in the law and in the prophets"!

    That means Paul believed what Isaiah wrote about the Lord coming back to consume those for eating unclean beast!

    At any point did you ever wonder why ONLY unclean beast was mentioned in Isa.66?

    If the Lord did away with His dietary laws would it matter WHAT beast was being consumed? No!

    And are you too avoiding my question?

    You see.....the problem Bud02 has with answering this question is based on what he said previously. Let's read it;

    So, according to Bud02, the (10) are the ONLY laws we are to keep. But is that what God's Holy word tells us? NO!

    God's word says we must also keep laws outside of the (10), if we don't we sin! And what is sin?

    Breaking God's laws!

    So how can anyone say we are no longer under the law?

    Why do people think that by quoting this scripture they are free to break God's laws?

    The scriptures is NOT giving anyone the authority to pick and choose which day to serve God....He has already told us!
    The scriptures is NOT giving anyone the authority to pick and choose what is clean and unclean to eat.....God did that for us too!

    The scripture is simply saying do not be bothered by what others say when you worship and obey God the way He has prescribed!

    It is obvious He knew it would happen, hince the scripture!

    As the lesson states;
    "For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD."

    Someone IS going to fulfill this!

    Did the one that gave us the restriction do away with them in the NT? I know there are those that think Paul trumps God....but the fact of the matter is that the ONLY gave the restrictions is the only one that can do away with the restrictions. And this is what the one that gave the restriction has to say....

    "For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
    "
    Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

    So unless Jesus did away with them they yet stand!

    Something to consider....years after Christ died Peter STILL keep God's dietary laws!

    Actually God said those who teach Christians dietary restrictions are teaching "doctrines of demons".

    1 Timothy 4:1-4 (NKJV)
    [sup]1 [/sup]Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, [sup]2 [/sup]speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, [sup]3 [/sup]forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. [sup]4 [/sup]For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;

    I've only read the posts on this page. Sorry if this question has already been asked but, do you wear a tefillin? It is commanded by God. If you don't wear one, why not? I know asking about the tefillin isn't about the dietary laws, so excuse me for getting a little off topic.

    1 Tim.4
    [1] Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

    As I asked you to consider, years after Christ death, Peter still kept God's dietary laws! Did he teach doctrines of devils?

    [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
    [3] Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

    Now think about this one for a moment. Who is it that does NOT allow those in higher positions in their church to marry? And whose Church is it that commands that meat NOT to be consumed during a certain spring holiday?

    [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
    [5] For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

    All creatures of God are good...but ALL are not good to be consumed. Now what is it that is santified and what does it mean to be santified? Sanctified means to be set apart. And the above scriptures tells us the creatures that have been sacntified by God are to be received with thanksgiving. And when did God santify the creatures? As far back as Noah....

    Gen.7
    [2] Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

    You say this is commanded by god? Which god? For I find no such commandment from the true and living God of the bible!

    I certainly don't have a problem with someone wanting to keep the dietary laws. There's some good stuff there.

    However for me, I don't feel I need to keep them, and I don't believe the new testament says to keep them. However, if you are keeping the dietary law, and making claims that we all are bound by the laws, then you yourself must keep every single one of them. If you break one part of the law you're guilty of breaking all of them.

    So,,,,,,,,, Which ones should I start with first?

    Clothing woven to two different materials? Should I stone my kids when they disobey? Do I seriously need to put rails around my roof? How can I sacrifice animals without the ASPCA arresting me? On the year of Jubilee, should I take my mortgage company to court and demand that my debt be cleared?

    Also, I touched some of my dogs food, How long exactly am I unclean for? I also shaved my beard off and cut the hair at the sides of my head,, now what do I do?

    Here is yet another example of scriptures not being understood!

    So the person that has NEVER killed is guilty of killing? And what about the married man and woman that have never cheated...are they guilty of adultry? The answer to both is NO!

    What James is saying is that the punishment for stealing is the same for lying, and the same for murder and the same for any of God's laws!

    I have never killed anyone in my life, but if I covet the punishment would be the same as if I DID murder! That is what is meant by the scripture....NOT that if you break one you actually break them all!

    As for the rest.... we are to keep ALL of God's laws to the best of our ability!

    And as far as this lesson.....I am simply quoting what thus saith the Lord. God said He would consume those for eating unlean beast, not me!

    Someone is going to fulfill this! Someone IS going to die for eating unclean foods! As I have asked in the past....is catfish, shrimp, and pork risk taking the chance that it will be YOU that fulfills this?

    It's been about 10yrs. since I have stopped eating unclean foods and to be honest, there are SO many other things to take their place there really is no need to eat them (I was born and raised near New Orleans, had a chicken Po' Boy this summer at family reunion and it was great! Couldn't tell the difference from it or an oyster Po' Boy!)

    So now I have one less thing to worry about when Jesus returns. I may be guilty of some others, but I will not be consumed for eating unclean foods!

    If you think it is worth the risk then please.....by all means continue! I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. My job is to simple spead God's word!

    No doubt there are healthier choices, and very tastey other choices besides what is called "unclean".

    I personally enjoy chicken better than almost anything.

    If your conscience is clear, that's fantastic!

    Well, the Bible tells us that people wore them. Here are scriptures to show where they get it from.

    Here are the commandments from the True and Living God of the Bible.

    Deuteronomy 6:8 (New International Version, ©2010)
    [sup]8[/sup] Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

    Deuteronomy 11:18 (New International Version, ©2010)
    [sup]18[/sup] Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

    Here are some scriptures from the New Testament to show they wore them...

    Matthew 23:5-7 (New International Version, ©2010)

    [sup]5[/sup] “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[sup][a][/sup] wide and the tassels on their garments long;

    Footnotes:

    1. Matthew 23:5 That is, boxes containing Scripture verses, worn on forehead and arm

      But since you didn't like the tefillin question, how about do you follow this commandment in Exodus 13? There are some commands about food.

      Do you follow what God commanded here.

      Then Moses said to the people, “Commemorate this day, the day you came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the LORD brought you out of it with a mighty hand. Eat nothing containing yeast. [sup]4[/sup] Today, in the month of Aviv, you are leaving. [sup]5[/sup] When the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites—the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey—you are to observe this ceremony in this month: [sup]6[/sup] For seven days eat bread made without yeast and on the seventh day hold a festival to the LORD. [sup]7[/sup] Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders. [sup]8[/sup] On that day tell your son, ‘I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ [sup]9[/sup] This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. [sup]10[/sup] You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year.

    You know that I disagree strongly with pretty much everything you say, but as I have already covered all of it, I won't go over it again.
    But this? By following Gods 'Dietary Law' you have one less thing to worry about on the day Jesus returns? Boy, you have so totally missed what Jesus has done for you. He came and when He died, He took ALL your sins. Every. Single. One. This is how great His Love for us is! And what He asks in return is that we love Him! This is what we are to tell to the world....not rules, but love!
    And because He has taken all on for us, and because of His great love, when He returns, we have no worry! We have wonder, we have joy, we have longing, and we can lift our heads up in praise!!

    [Fulfilling the Law Through Love]

    [8] Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

    (Romans 13:8; Romans 13:9-14:12 ESV) [9] For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [10] Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

    [11] Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. [12] The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. [13] Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. [14] But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

    [Do Not Pass Judgment on One Another]

    [14:1] As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. [2] One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. [3] Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. [4] Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

    [5] One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. [6] The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. [7] For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. [8] For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. [9] For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

    [10] Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; [11] for it is written,

    “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,

    and every tongue shall confess to God.”

    [12] So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.

    (Romans 13:8; Romans 13:9-14:12 ESV)

    Really? If the readers are to go with your logic then why is it that EVERYONE will NOT make it into God's kingdom?

    If He truly took away ALL sins why will there be a judgement?

    So no one will have to worry when Jesus returns?

    Readers....does that make sense?

    Please understand....those that make it into God's kingdom must DO something different than those that do not!

    An action of some sort MUST be performed. Faith alone will not cut it. As God's word says;

    "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."

    There are people who lust in their heart for someone other than their spouse....and there are people who are angry with their brother. There are a lot of things people who call themselves Christian do...and they do believe Jesus...but they do not do what he says. When you read the New Testament you will see a lot of commands. There are not just commands in the Old Testament. If we do the commands Jesus says to do in the New Testament....then we will surpass the righteousness of those who only follow the Old Testament laws.

    I repeat, God said that dietary restrictions are DOCTRINES OF DEMONS.

    Dietary restrictions are part of the Law of Moses, not the NT.

    Galatians 3:10 (NKJV)

    I want to say something about the eating of meat. The Old Testament has laws about the way an animal is to be killed and prepared before eating. I believe that a Christian who is led by the Holy Spirit will ultimately be concerned about the meat that they eat....the animal who's life ended to feed you...whether or not the animal they eat was treated right before being butchered, etc. I just wanted to make that point.

    Not everyone will go to heaven because we have to except the gift of grace that Jesus gave us.
    Not everyone loves Jesus, believes in Jesus or even wants to go to heaven.
    As John 3:16 says, who every believes in Him will have eternal life.

    Judgment for the unsaved. And no, people under the blood of Christ will not have to worry. You know...I thought this was all very clear in the scriptures. The only people still trying to earn their way into heaven are the Jews. Clearly thats not going to work, or why was Jesus' death on the cross even necessary. Why the new, if the old was going to work?

    Again, you're missing the wonder that is Jesus!! You say "those that make it into God's kingdom must DO something..". You are implying, or even outright stating that you need to earn your way into heaven. You CANNOT do this. You are a fallen, sinful man, we all are.

    [10] as it is written:

    “None is righteous, no, not one;
    (Romans 3:10 ESV)

    Do you really believe you can stand before God, and when He asks you why He should let you into heaven, expect to be let in only by the strength of your deeds? It is ONLY through the deeds of the perfect man; Jesus, that we can gain entrance into heaven. This is the ENTIRE point of Jesus coming, living the perfect life, free of sin, and dying in our place. I am so sorry you just can't see this beautiful thing!

    Please keep this in context.

    [Faith Without Works Is Dead]
    [14] What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? [15] If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, [16] and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? [17] So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
    (James 2:14-17 ESV)

    James is saying here that being born again, receiving a new spirit in Christ, it generates a new life! If someone claims to have faith, but his life shows nothing for it, then his claim is false. Real faith generates love, kindness and forgiveness to those around us. We become more eager to help, to share, and to speak of what our God has done for us!
    And just so you don't think I'm putting my own spin on this, the Bible has already taught us about faith vs works.

    [Israel's Unbelief]
    [32] Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone,
    Romans 9:32 ESV)

    (commentary: Why did Israel fail to achieve right standing with God through the law? They did not pursue obedience to the law in humble trust, but tried to make it a means of establishing their own righteousness.)

    [16] yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
    (Galatians 2:16 ESV)

    [The Righteous Shall Live by Faith]
    [10] For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” [11] Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” [12] But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” [13] Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— [14] so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
    (Galatians 3:10-14 ESV)
