Ecumenical discussion is about better understanding each other’s beliefs – NOT about merging them. This is exactly what Jesus and Moses and many others did.
The Bible does't command us to be fearful isolationists. We are called to be fearLESS servant's of Christ.

In centuries past, NOT having discussions led to WAR and the persecutions of MANY people including Catholics, Protestants, Pagans, etc.

Study your bible yourself and humble yourself from the snide remark. Everyone of Acts 14, 17, and 19 Paul preached and got stoned, and preached again. No debate mentioned.
