Sorry, yes, that's probably the main objective in the consideration of impeachment, to disallow a 2nd run for presidency.
But, like you said, his behaviour in the last month, has undermined his popularity to the extent that he doesn't pose a threat as a candidate, for the 2024 elections. ...man, but who would've thought that he'd even make it this far?????

That was part of they "could not do it". My son who clerks for a fed appeals court judge has followed the case. Of the few times teh Trump team got to present the case before a judge they were all dismissed as not havng merit. So either there was no evidence or the evidence did not rise to the needed level.

It reminds me of Elijah lighting the bonfire before executing the 400 prophets of Baal. He takes 12 pitchers of water and douses the wood repeatedly. In the same way they certified the vote, Trump conceded, but they still want him declared unfit for office and to impeach him. It seems absurd to think they could complete the impeachment process in a week, but even if they did and even if they did vote to impeach that would mean he is removed from office on January 19th, hours before he is already scheduled to be removed. Is that the best use of our time with the need for stimulus and the evidence that we are currently at war with China?

I do not fear what man can do to me. And, it has been in seeking Him since 1992, (but, probably my whole life really) It has only been a bit over 10 years ago that I FINALLY understood what that supernatural peace that surpasses ALL understanding really was. I've been sitting here trying to make sense of this post. Are you predicting that the Democrats will move to make the District of Columbia a state? Uh, it's not like they haven't been in a position of power before. Why didn't they do that in the past?

As for the Supreme Court everyone knows that the president nominates justices and the Senate is the one who approves or rejects them. Unless a vacancy occurs during the tenure of a president he won't be nominating any justices. Civics 101.

Don't worry too much about it, @April_Rose . Remember that the President is accountable to the people, not the other way around. Unless you're in the military or work in the executive branch of government you don't answer to him. No one says we have to like whomever is president!

We know who is in charge of everything: God. Follow Jesus Christ and forget about men. Men are not reliable but the Lord is eternal and never changes. :)
