    I agree.

    Both of those men had a harem.

    God the father was not born on the planet KOBOL to another god and one of his wives.

    Satan and Christ are not actual brothers born to god the father and one of his wives.

    There are not three heavens and no hell.

    There is no such thing as eternal marriage.

    There is nothing Christian about Mormonism.

    So then forget about the thief on the cross for you which you also followed the pattern of the Pharisees to build up a smoke screen against the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not blind, but you presume with regard to the Holy Spirit and quench instead of allowing yourself to be led. You have decided... and until you open the gate even God cannot break through any barriers to growth toward Him. Your decisions stand. Is it risky to open that gate? Not to a person who is always seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness.

    One of these days hopefully you may actually read with understanding and retain what I wrote to you. I have never on this forum said that I do not believe in study. I do, and I do study... You should consider the three levels Noah built in that ark of gopher wood. All of the creatures on all three levels were saved. Do you know what that means? If not perhaps you should study... and pray in the Spirit so that it may in God's time be quickened within you! In the meantime remember also these verses for which you also have a different understanding that may work well when building on the wrong foundation:

    "Judge not, that ye be not judged.
    For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matt 7:1-2

    If the foundation is wrong the building will not stand, no matter how seemingly good the carpenters and the building materials.

    Mormonism is a cult.

    God is Trinity.

    And what is it that you definitely know and what is it that is definitely more important than those things?

    "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." I Cor 13:2 [KJV]

    "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing" I Cor 13:2 [NIV]

    And what is this charity/love?

    "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
    Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
    Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
    Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." I Cor 13:4-7 [KJV]

    "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
    It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
    Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
    It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." I Cor 13:4-7 [NIV]

    Rather the scripture confirms that Jesus is Truth. No where is it written that trinity is truth. You should not rephrase what is written or add to what is written in order to make it better fit your own beliefs. If your beliefs were correct, there would be no need!

    "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

    "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

    I am not sure if this was addressed to me or someone else. I quoted exactly what is found in the official web site of the LDS church. They do have "another gospel".

    When the false teachings of any group calling themselves Christians are examined, it is NOT hearts and attitudes (which only God knows) but doctrines and practices (which have been officially published). Christians are commanded to prove all things, and all things must be examined in the light of Scripture.

    I do understand all of that yet, how can we Christians just toss out all other denominations as they do not line up in all areas as we THINK ours do. We would have to banish the whole Church, as I do not think there is one single denom. out there that is not in error in some way. I am not a fan of any who use extra-biblical writings yet, most of them do. I believe in the Trinity but, I also do not think it is tantamount to salvation. NO, I don't get the crazy planet stuff as, I can find nowhere in Gods Final Word to even suggest such a thing yet, I will not tell Mormons they are all going to burn in Hell, not my job. Just my thoughts on the matter. :)

    The fact is, Nancy, this is important that you get this....that Mormonism is not a christian "denomination" it is specifically a dangerous deceptive cult with REAL life cult leaders that have written their false teachings in the Book of Mormon. You would know this if you investigated it. Joseph Smith is as the Bible defines it a False prophet who created his own separate religious Cult. Mormonism has it's own spiritual writings & teachings that allegedly came to Joseph Smith on golden plates that appeared. The Book of Mormon & other writings have tried to make some of their doctrines appear Christian, deeper research shows they are anything but. Mormonism has created it's own belief system which Lies about the Origin of man, God and Jesus & how people are saved. Please watch some of those videos and actively do research and then you will not be defending what sets itself up as enemies of God & Christ. Yes , false religions are the enemy of God. Sadly foolish people are deceived by lies and lead away from the Truth which would save their souls. God wants all people to come out of these false religions and they will only do that if these actual Cults are exposed as presenting a false spiritual path to heaven, and another Gospel.
    Mormonism presents "another Christ" - which is what Jesus warned about in Matt 24:5. It is not the Jesus of the Bible that they love & follow.
    Matt 24 : 5 “See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many."
    It is really dangerous to defend Mormonism because of being ill-informed and doing "0" research. Those Christians might find themselves ashamed for having defended these Wolves that JESUS TOLD us to recognize & Beware of and whom other Christians have earnestly tried to warn about, but instead the watchers on the wall get attacked by gullible Christians & the Wolves in sheep's clothing get defended. It is a sign of the latter days.

    There are always those that denies the truth.

    We are to be defenders of the truth.

    I understand you're trying to push your beliefs.

    Obviously that is not our job. But our job is to examine all the false teachings in Christendom in the light of Scripture. We can point this out to others and it is up to them to abandon their false teachings or not.

    Yes, there are certainly some of those and some even who said that source of the Truth's power was through the chief devil:

    "And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
    But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils." Matt 9:33-34

    They knew his name to be Jesus, but they did NOT know him! They had really missed the Truth!

    "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." John 14:6-7

    Some will deny the truth out ignorance, but some seemingly know much but are unwilling to continue to seek that they might know more...

    "I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
    They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
    But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
    Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
    Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
    Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
    Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:38-44

    To know the Truth, a person must know Jesus. How many know of him without knowing him?

    Let us recall here Pilate's question even as the truth stood before him:

    "Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all." John 18:38

    How many confessing themselves to be Christian believers today really do not know the truth?

    If this is so then going again back to Pilate's question: "What is truth?" What is it that we should be defending? What is it that we should be attacking? Does the truth needed to be defended or does it stand waiting for... what?

    "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
    And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3:19-20

    Am I? Or am I simply hoping that you may even understand what it is that I do believe? So far it would seem that I have been unsuccessful. Do we agree on anything?

    MORMONS CAN BE SAVED.

    When I was a pastor, the local Mormon church created a service for Christian outsiders to explain why Momonism is compatible with the evangelical Gospel. A huge crowd came and the service featured several testimonies and presentations about the Mormon faith that resembled an old fashioned camp meeting revival with testimonies of divine healing and miraculous answers to prayer. The speakers celebrated the Gospel of Christ's atoning death on the cross and the wonder of salvation by grace through faith in Christ's finished work of atonement. They also proclaimed our Bible as God's Word. Now I realize that their presentations were selectively adapted to appeal to an evangelical audience. Still, if they really believed what they professed to believe and lived the grace-based life of gratitude that they professed to live, I have no doubt that they are saved. I say this despite my conviction:
    (1) the Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon are frauds;
    (2) that Mormon beliefs about the preexistent life of Christ and God the Father are absurd, even blasphemous.

    But we are not saved by adhering to a correct theological belief system, but by how we view Jesus' atoning death on the cross and the grace-based life of gratitude and service that we live in response to Christ's atoning work. The upshot of that Mormon service was that the Mormons were accepted as members in good standing of our local ministerial association. I have no problem with that because we need one organization where we can build on values we have in common and cooperate to serve the poor accordingly. Too many pastors just haven't learned to disagree agreeably. Just because we cooperate with Mormons on certain social ministries does not mean that we should not also vigorous express our reasons for viewing Mormonism as a false cult in the right venue for doing so.

    Yes. I am pretty sure they have heard it all, lol. It would be nice to see they, themselves on here who are Mormon, explain on the public forum why they believe the stuff of Joseph Smith. Just anybody could come along claiming anything at all as long as they have SOME truth to it...a little leaven!

    In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Joh 1:1

    And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.... :14

    Psal 78:1
    Give ear, O My people, to My Torah: incline your ears to The Words of My mouth. 2: I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

    Mat 13:34
    All these things spake YESHUA unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake He not unto them: 35: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

    Thy Righteousness is an everlasting Righteousness, and Thy Torah is The Truth. Psa 119:142

    If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and The Truth is not in us. 1 Jo 1:8

    YHWH is well pleased for His Righteousness' sake; He will magnify The Torah, and make it honourable. Isa 42:21

    Those that overcome are singing Two Songs, The Song of Moses the Servant of Elohim, And the Song of The Lamb. Rev 15:2

    To The Torah and to The Testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them. Isa 8:20

    The Testimony of YESHUA is the spirit of Prophecy Rev 19:10

    ~~~~~~
    History of the Church Volume 6 Chapter 19 pg 407 into 408
    Joe Smitty said, and a month later he was dead...
    I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet. Volume 6 Chapter 19
    anyone who believes this pompous donkey's rear end is a prophet deserves what they get.
    You can show a Mormon a hundred bizarre quotes, the people on the moon dress like Quakers
    brig young, adam was God, and there never was a time when men weren't becoming gods
    Ridiculousness, ask them how did it start, this eternal regression of men becoming gods, since you have to be a man first, then progress and be exalted to god status, but you must get married in the temple to reach the highest exaltation.. hahahahaha
    They are saying that man came first, yes they are, but they are blind...and can not see any truth... unregenerate souls
    repeating I believe Joseph Smith is a Prophet and in the Book of Mormon.
    A burning in my bosum lets me know its true...
    and you can't reason with that.
    I must wonder why, if they believe as they say, they do not ever talk about it in the open "Christian" forums. All that celestial stuff and yes, you are correct, I have done very little research on Mormonism. I have watched some of these videos and have read some articles from both sides yet, there seems to be a covert operation going on between what is revealed by others that they believe and, what they claim to believe. Like, do they REALLY believe that Jesus was Satan's brother?? And, all the other stuff. I suppose my wondering is all about their Soteriology and how they differs from ours...
    I am more than happy to answer any question, assuming that the asker is actually interested in the answer.
    I did start thread a while back starting where I felt was most important: What I actually believe -- sharing love of Christ
    If you want to talk about Joseph Smith particular, I can do that as well.
