I guess that makes me a heretic.... OH boy... LOL
The reason I made the comment about being a heretic is because according to your definition which I found interesting ( never thought of it in that light )... you would be correct in that a protestant is someone who has left the Catholic faith... thus protest(ant). That made logistical sense to me.The RCC frowned on reading the Bible - even killed those caught with a Bible in any non Latin translation, limiting bible reading mostly to the priests, who could read Latin - unfortunately for them a Catholic priest named ML decided to read the letter Paul wrote to the Roman church, and discovered just how far the RCC had strayed from biblical truth - the rest is history.
Okay, but here's the thing - if it IS still a "controversy" - then people are STILL protesting the Catholic Church and it's teachings.Yes it is a splintering, but I don't feel I am wrong about calling it a controversy. Would you tell me it isn't controversial? If so, why is this thread going on?
Yes... In a broad sense, as the definition implies. But relax... I wasn't being all that serious about that answer to begin with.
Kenneth Copeland and his cronies aren't protesting. So what are they?Okay, but here's the thing - if it IS still a "controversy" - then people are STILL protesting the Catholic Church and it's teachings.
Ergo, they are Protestants.
Are ALL non Catholic Christians protesting the Catholic Church directly? Judging from this forum and using it as a microcosm for Christianity - I would have to say "YES". That's why threads like this thrive on this and other forums.
I'm not saying this to argue - but simply as a fact.
I SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOO want to answer that question... but I might just get BANNED...so I will exercise myKenneth Copeland and his cronies aren't protesting. So what are they?
Hahaha. You know those gifs where some unrecognisable creature is rolling around on the floor laughing and crying and thumping his fists on the floor at the same time with tears streaming from his eyes? No, I don't mean Copeland's head deacon during a Sunday night crusade.I SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOOOO want to answer that question... but I might just get BANNED...so I will exercise my
attempt at self-control... and regret that I saw this ALERT....
I don't know why I follow the threads that ANGER me to no end... It's like a moth to light I guess.... but in this case... NOPE... just not worth it... believe me... I could write a novel about what I think about this very topic... Word of Faith/Prosperity/Roman Catholic Church.Hahaha. You know those gifs where some unrecognisable creature is rolling around on the floor laughing and crying and thumping his fists on the floor at the same time with tears streaming from his eyes? No, I don't mean Copeland's head deacon during a Sunday night crusade.
That's me right now.
I said non-Catholic CHRISTIANS.Kenneth Copeland and his cronies aren't protesting. So what are they?
And he has also met with Muslim and Jewish leaders to discuss unity. On June 24th, 2014.... Kenneth Copeland and his wife... John Arnott and his wife ( Toronto Blessing )... James Robison and his wife...
met with Pope Francis for over 3 hours to discuss Christian Unity.
I have aptly named this meeting the JUDAS KISS....as it is the BEGINNING of this FALSE Christian unity... and One World Religion.
So....for a guy that rejects the very nature of God.... it's odd that he was invited to meet with the pope.
I think I understand what you are saying. I absolutely agree that people are still protesting the Catholic Church. Absolutely this thread is evidence. Did I suggest otherwise?Okay, but here's the thing - if it IS still a "controversy" - then people are STILL protesting the Catholic Church and it's teachings.

That strikes me as a massive cop-out - but you're entitled to bow out of the conversation if you wish.@BreadOfLife ... I joined these forums a year ago... that is when I first met you. I have worked very hard to stay away from direct communication with you because I find your arrogance and utter disdain for many you communicate with... to be offensive and unappealing... however I am not the judge of you... God is.
With the above said... I hope you understand that this is why I did not tag you when I made my last comment on this thread.
You are responsible for what you believe and how you speak... I am responsible for what I believe and how I speak.
I am also wise enough to know when conversation is fruitless. Therefore... I am respectfully choosing not to respond to your
comment.
I am fully aware that my thoughts and opinions of the Roman Catholic Church are not positive. I have learned to keep my thoughts to myself
for the most part. This topic caught my eye because of a comment that Curtis made about the definition of protestant.
And here we are.... These words have come from my heart BOL... and are not meant as an attack... but rather an honest reflection.
God Bless you. Addy
Not really - I guess it was your initial denial of the term, "Protestant".I think I understand what you are saying. I absolutely agree that people are still protesting the Catholic Church. Absolutely this thread is evidence. Did I suggest otherwise?
The Trinity as defined by the church no doubt. So anyone not in agreement with the church, therefore is not a Christian? So those who believe in the Godhead as revealed in scripture, and only scripture, without the defining machinations and formulas devised by the schools and institutions of the church, they miss out? So the church is therefore the sole arbiter of truth and heresy and decides who is saved and who is not.I said non-Catholic CHRISTIANS.
Kenneth Copeland is a Oneness Pentecostal who rejects the very nature of God as revealed in the Trinity.
Christians are Trinitarian by definition.
there are many quasi-Christian sects outside of this.
That strikes me as a massive cop-out - but you're entitled to bow out of the conversation if you wish.
Just know that I will expose you if I read any other falsehoods aimed at the Catholic Church.
