Yes, you missed these.....
Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. 1 John 2:6
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. 1 Peter 3:11
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19
@Corlove13
I'm wondering what translations you are quoting there. Google search shows the NIV, then the Phillips, the third I can't figure out.
I've found both the NIV and Phillips to be more interpretive, the third appears the same way. For myself I look for clear teaching in more literal translations as stronger support for doctrine.
These are more literal readings:
1 John 2:6 KJV
6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 Peter 3:11 KJV
11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
2 Timothy 2:19 KJV
19) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
My hope here is that you will realize the significance in the difference of translation, and how it may impact your understanding of what is required to be saved, not to mention staying saved, as that is a particular concern for you.
Much love!
