I took that picture during my first year after separation from the U.S. Army in August of 1966. The man worked for owned the property in the middle of the restricted National Wilderness. It is 26 miles by horseback from the cabin to the edge of the wilderness. No motorized vehicles by private citizens were allowed in the wilderness itself. Eventually he had a small airfield built on his private land within to avoid using the Park Service field a couple miles away or riding the 26 miles. Before my visit the U.S. government had offered him $250,000.00 for his property but he refused to sale. At the time there were still several privately homesteaded properties like his within the the wilderness. They wanted to eliminate them all keeping it as an unspoiled sanctuary. I don't know if they ever succeeded.Another very old homestead located in a northern Idaho National Wilderness:View attachment 16932

You are doing fine. The word, photo, is just a shortened version of the word, photograph. There may be a slight difference between 'photograph' and 'picture' but like me, I suspect that most people are not concerned about such a difference.So...to me a photo and a picture is the same thing. I just realized that there may be a difference.
If this is supposed to be a thread of pictures that the poster has taken, oops!
I've posted a few pictures of places I've been, but since my first wife got all of my own pictures, I've taken pics off of the web.
If I've inadvertently misrepresented myself, I apologize.
Now that's what I should be doing
Very common in the eastern states of Australia, eastern Rosella. Pretty yes, and quite shy. If it had noticed me, gone instantly.what is the bird? Very pretty.
