@JohnDB You could say the same about preachers' wives, for that matter (most of whom in North America would were earrings). If a little is good more is better right?
It's self absorbtion.
It's not simple clothing.
But to permanently damaged the gift that God gave you?
Puhleese.
Clip-ons work...@JohnDB You could say the same about preachers' wives, for that matter (most of whom in North America would were earrings).
Clip-ons work...
Some would say, rather, that it reflects a tough guy image.Guys can't... they just look like transvestites.
Pigtails and a skirt reflects a tough guy image?Well, it's probable that most Christian women in North America who happen to wear earrings have gone ahead and pierced their ears.
Some would say, rather, that it reflects a tough guy image.
You know I was referring to pierced ears, not pigtails.Pigtails and a skirt reflects a tough guy image?
Really?
And why would a Compassionate and caring Christian man want to project a "tough guy" image?
How deep of a hole are you going to dig?
You know I was referring to pierced ears, not pigtails.
I don't think you are engaging with any of my posts meaningfully (which I guess is fine).
Some Christian men do happen to wear earrings without being either of those things. Why should a Christian man look like a thug or a drug dealer?
Some Christian men do happen to wear earrings without being either of those things.
Plenty of Christian women also would wear earrings that go through the earlobe and are not merely clipped on.
There are plenty of references in the Bible also to earrings and pierced ears; various of the contexts are instructive and positive.
See the OP.Oh really?
Men wearing earrings and it's a positive in scripture?
I heard of the story of Sampson who lost his strength because he no longer looked like a prophet under Nazarite vows.
I heard of a soldier who died because he looked like the wrong side in a war...
I heard of all kinds of bad things happening because a person looked like the wrong type of person.
Why should a man wear jewelry like that?
Pirates (thugs and thieves)
Thugs (ill tempered and brutish)
Drug dealer ( armed and dangerous)
Transvestites
These are the men that I know about wearing jewelry like that. Why would a man who promotes Christ crucified want to appear as one of those people?
You have yet to answer that question.
And how does a guy wearing earrings fall within Paul's directives to "Avoid every appearance of evil"?
Then there's the whole double minded man principle you haven't addressed.
I'm not attacking...See the OP.
The personal attack I won't respond to.
See the OP and post #4.I'm not attacking...
I'm asking questions. You haven't supplied a single answer yet.
Do you have something to hide?
What's your agenda?
I promote Christ and his crucifixion...
What are you promoting?
I did...Read those posts and see.
