Actually, yes. :) Only if a President of the United States were to outlaw pornography he would be violating laws regarding freedom on speech, so he would have to override the current law of the land.
But it sure would be interesting watching him try, LoL. Anyway, I don't think we will ever know if he might have attempted such a thing in a second term, because I still doubt that he's going to have one.
But yes, I do understand the point.
Remember, pornography was outlawed in America at one time. And of course as with Prohibition, when a worldly vice is made illegal only criminals will prosper.
Now, pornography is legal, regulated, and an option to the consumer.
We should have learned a long time ago that it is impossible to legislate common sense, morality or decency. No one forces someone to be a consumer of porn. It's a choice.
Laying the porn market at the feet of Trump is nonsense. TDS, anti-Trump campaigns, resort to any avenue to assail his presidency. Imagine if he did try to outlaw what he feels is immoral.
Then the rallying cry to outrage would resonate across the land. How dare he decide for me! Remember the first amendment! And like that.
It's silly.
What's next. Oh, that's right, Covid-19 is Trump's fault because he didn't warn people soon enough that it was out there.
But he did shut down entry into this country by at risk travelers and boy did that get attacked. XENOPHOBIA! RACISM!
Please.
TDS is a virus. What's the cure? Trump! For four more years. Let radical Liberals whine again.
And pray for its victims. One of their symptoms is to appear really really silly in public blaming Trump for stupid stuff.
