Father and Son:According to Jesus, he says that his Father in the only true God in (John 17:3).
Some of the verses show His humanness and were spoken while He was human or spoke of when He would come in the flesh. They do not negate the verses that show He was and is God.
Don’t you think you would catch more fish somewhere OTHER than a Christian site...? I mean, don’t you want to maximize your catch and go where you could “help” more men?
How many Gods do you believe in? I don't think you even know. This thread contends there are proof of such verses that show He was and is God. No such proof has been presented.
What’s been presented is imposing trinitarian doctrine onto unitarian text.
See above for the purpose of this thread.
"The definition of begotten means something created something else or someone fathered a child" - from Begotten Meaning | Best 3 Definitions of Begotten. To beget, apart from meaning to be the father of, can mean "To cause to exist or occur; produce" - from Beget Meaning | Best 8 Definitions of Beget. The Son, was begotten of the Father. Begotten means one born with the same nature and character as that which have Him birth. Like begets like...

In order to harmonise with other verses of Scripture, it is evident that Jesus being begotten of the Father, means that the Father, Yahweh (God) produced, caused to exist, or created Jesus in his original spirit being nature. That was a mortal nature, just as all the angels also have a mortal spirit being nature. It had to be a mortal nature because God changed his nature from spirit to (mortal) human, and Jesus died as a human. To be immortal, by definition, means that you cannot possibly die - therefore you cannot have your nature changed to a mortal nature because that means you could not have been immortal in the first place!
Jesus was the only begotten of God, because God created Jesus but all other living beings, although creations of God, were then created by (and therefore through) Jesus, not by God directly.
Jesus prayed to God for restoration to his former spirit nature after his death:
John 17:5 (WEB): Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed.
But at his resurrection God instead rewarded him by exalting him to a greater glory - the immortal divine nature:
Act 2:33 (WEB): Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.
Philippians 2 (WEB):
8) And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
9) Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name;
10) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
11) and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Hmm, what's that in the left column?
When we read of the LORD in the Old Testament we are reading about the pre-incarnate Jesus. Here are some examples:Which is referring to the Father. God was seen in the OT several times. And so it would have to be Jesus Who was seen.
Exodus 6:2-3 (NKJV)
2 And God spoke to Moses and said to him: "I am the LORD. 3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them.
Right! God's son was with God in the beginning of God's creation, and God's son (Jesus, the Word) did the creating. Seems quite obvious to me that the "beginning" was referring to the beginning of God's creation.Because the Creation of the universe by "The Word", is first mentioned in verse 3, "all things were brought into being (εγενετο) by Him".
Remeber your favourite verse, John 1:1 - Jesus was with God in the beginning, and Jesus did the creating. So in Gen 1:26 when God said, “Let’s make man in our image, after our likeness”, and all the other "God said, “Let ...”", that was God giving instructions to His son, Jesus. Nice and simple - no need to concoct strange theories that two (or three) separate beings are somehow actually one being, or other such nonsense!Gen 1 God said let US make man in OUR image according to OUR likeness.
When we read of the LORD in the Old Testament we are reading about the pre-incarnate Jesus. Here are some examples:
Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
John 17:5 "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am."
Micah 5:2 "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."
Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
Colossians 1:16-18 — For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Isaiah 44:24 — Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, (Jesus is the Redeemer) And He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;
John 1:3 — All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Ephesians 3:9 — and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ
.
So you don't know how many Gods you believe in?Remeber your favourite verse, John 1:1 - Jesus was with God in the beginning, and Jesus did the creating. Hmm, what's that in the left column?
Seems quite obvious to me that the "beginning" was referring to the beginning of God's creation.
the left is the Watchtowers bias against the Deity of Jesus Christ. The right is what the verse actually says!
Why all the vitriol?"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive." (Eph 4)
There's nothing cunning nor crafty about this childish stupidity. It's an insult to even childlike intelligence. Before these clowns started showing themselves for the immature posers that they are, I at least had some level of respect for them as a serious cult. Now, I know they aren't even that.
1 John 5:20 (WEB): We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true [God], and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This [God!] is the true God, and eternal life."...and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true Divine, and eternal life." (1 John 5)
Pretty pathetic. Like playing advanced tennis with bad amateurs, not even worth the effort.
obvious to you because you cannot accept the FACT that the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ IS Almighty God!
