In WWII there were conscientious objectors. They ran into bullets, RESPECT. I would really respect your pacificist views on what you would do. This is not a challenge to make me goad my ego. No, you're ignoring the teachings of Jesus and his apostles. It's clear the over-spiritualized are misinterpreting Jesus sending his Apostles out as lambs to wolves AND his command to buy a sword.

The Crusades is not a story of individual Christians acting as individuals. Rather, it is a story of corporate action of a Christian nation, Christian nations, actually working together in concert. The goal was to address an existential threat to the collective. This is NOT the wolves Jesus was referring to. He was referring to individuals negative reaction to the Gospel from the Apostles from spiritual warfare. Actual human military warfare. Spiritual warfare. Not equal.

There is no metaphorical aspect to the command buy a sword. Again, this is the teaching of Jesus is how to deal with corporate threat. This teaching just goes against your pacifist and anti-Biblical philosophy. The corporate aspect of Christian life was not the case in Jesus' time. 4 centuries later, the Roman Empire made Christianity the official religion of the empire. And that incorporation places the burden of maintaining the Christian civilization by the sword. You want to deny the 1st part of Jesus teaching, Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's. This has practical meaning fully in line with the Crusaders righteous cause.
