One has to first be born again spiritually to be able to see what God’s Word says. There are going to be Biblical liberals, and Ecumenists in these last days. Many also don’t appear to know how to properly research anything on the internet (And instead just blindly follow whatever false religious group comes along - even if it is a destructive one or it has bad fruits).
My encouragement…. Read your New Testament more and ask God for the understanding on it.
Look into the bad side of a religion that others say is a problem. Be truly objective. Look at the Bible and see if that religion aligns with it. In my experience, we are in a wide spread apostasy and few are truly teaching God’s Word plainly (As it is written). If they get Soteriology correct, they either reject the Godhead (Trinity) or they reject something else (like how we were by nature children of wrath - before we came to Christ). Most do not even have a final Word of authority. The list goes on and on. I am not saying I know everything. We do look through a glass darkly, but it just seems like everywhere I turn,… somebody is not believing something in the Bible (as it is plainly written).
But the key is not to follow anyone. Follow God. One needs to have a handle on the Word of God themselves. Many times people are too lazy to study the Word of God for themselves (With the help of God).
