Paul said:

1 Cor. 15:12 Now if it is being preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how is it that some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If, indeed, there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised up. 14 But if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and your faith is also in vain. 15 Moreover, we are also found to be false witnesses of God, because we have given witness against God by saying that he raised up the Christ, whom he did not raise up if the dead are really not to be raised up. 16 For if the dead are not to be raised up, neither has Christ been raised up. 17 Further, if Christ has not been raised up, your faith is useless; you remain in your sins. 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in death in union with Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are to be pitied more than anyone.

He is saying very clearly that THERE IS NO INTERMEDIATE LIFE between death and resurrection.

Without resurrection the only reality is non-existence, and that's why he said: "if the dead are not to be raised up (...) then those who have fallen asleep in death in Christ have perished" (vv.16-19).

Speaking of the natural human body of flesh, blood & corruption, Paul says that body must die to be quickened (made alive), but the body sown in the earth in death is not the body that shall be resurrected when our body dies, because God gives it a body the pleases Him and to every seed his own body. In death God gives a body the seed He chooses, either being the Seed of God, who is Spirit, having died in Christ, or the natural seed of Adam if man has died in unbelief. To have the Seed of Christ is to be a celestial body, like that of spirit, and no longer of the terrestrial natural body of flesh, blood, and corruption. Because there are both celestial (heavenly) bodies and terrestrial (human) bodies.

1 Corinthians 15:35 (KJV) But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
1 Corinthians 15:36 (KJV)
Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
1 Corinthians 15:37 (KJV) And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
1 Corinthians 15:38 (KJV)
But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

1 Corinthians 15:40 (KJV) There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

The body sown in corruption is natural being of flesh, blood, and corruption, and when physically raised shall be immortal and incorruptible. That won't be until the last trump sounds that time on this earth shall be no more.

1 Corinthians 15:42 (KJV) So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

The body sown a natural body of dishonor and weak will be raised in glory and power, but it will not be a natural body when raised, it will be a spiritual body (living soul). Because Paul says there is BOTH a natural body of flesh, blood and corruptible, and there is a spiritual body, celestial, heavenly as are the spirits in heaven, it shall be quickened (made spiritually alive) through the last Adam, Christ's Spirit. First man as all humanity are of the earth, earthy, as we are in flesh and blood like the first man, so too after our body is sown in death, we are raised a spiritual body, such as they also that are in heaven (living soul). As we were the image of the earthy, so too in the resurrection through Christ, we will be the image of the Lord from heaven, heavenly beings.

1 Corinthians 15:43-45 (KJV) It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:46-50 (KJV) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

We know Paul believed and spoke about dying and going to be with the Lord in heaven. It is no different in this passage. But here Paul shows us that physical death is not the end of life for those who die in faith. It is a transition from this earth as human beings, to heaven as spiritual beings, or living souls. We have this assurance through the promise of Christ when He said, Whosoever lives and believes in Me though he be dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever lives and believes in Him shall never die.

2 Corinthians 5:6-7 (KJV) Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Philippians 1:21-24 (KJV) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Paul knew that before he could be transformed to go to live in heaven (as he thought that event could happen while he was alive), the dead in Christ who were "asleep" in death would first have to be resurrected.

1 Thess. 4:16 because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. 17 Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord. 18 So keep comforting one another with these words.

1 Cor. 15:51 Look! I tell you a sacred secret: We will not all fall asleep in death, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the blink of an eye, during the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we will be changed.

PS: There is no verbiage or incorrect use of the Bible that can hide the TRUTH.

With a little added context we can say Paul clearly knew those who already sleep in Jesus "will God bring with Him". These physically dead saints, are spiritually alive, as living (spirit) soul God brings with Him when He returns. According to Paul the physical bodies of these spirit souls will be raised to immortal and incorruptible physical life first, then all believers who are still alive when He comes will be physically changed from mortal and corruptible to immortal and incorruptible to meet the Lord in the air. Then we shall be with the Lord forever on the new earth.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 (KJV) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (KJV)
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

As we can clearly see, Paul does NOT contradict himself. The dead in Christ return with Him from heaven as spirit soul. They are reunited with their bodies of death changed to immortal and incorruptible, and saints still alive when Christ returns with the saints who are alive in heaven with Him, will be physically changed from mortal to immortal, and corruptible to incorruptible together every believer is caught up with the Lord in the air until the wrath by fire of God from heaven is over. Since this heaven and earth will have passed away, the faithful saints will come down, inhabitants of the holy city new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 (KJV) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Revelation 21:1 (KJV) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Revelation 21:2 (KJV) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

I believe it is Christ who resurrects, though some would argue Christ is the Son, and that the Father resurrects, I think.

God's power flowed through Jesus..:)
Jesus said-"..the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does" (John 5:19)

What hope did Jehovah offer his servants before Christ?

Let's see what Daniel's hope was when he was very old:

[17.] Paul (not actually resurrected, merely injured and helped up) - Acts 14:19-20; 2 Corinthians 11:25, 12:1-7.

[18.] Anti Christos (koine Greek) (Vicarivs Christi (Latin); Beast of the Sea; Son of Perdition; Man of Sin; receives a 'deadly wound' (Government/State Authority with execution powers is stripped from it), and later is healed (Government/State Authority with execution powers are returned to it; it counterfeits Christ Jesus; this is not an individual person, but a system, a Church/State entity*) - Revelation 13:3,12; Daniel 11:40.

There are many other verses to consider on resurrection in general, such as Matthew 11:5; Luke 7:22, Romans 8:11; &c; and other related verses, such as Matthew 8:22; Luke 9:60, &c.

There are many verses which speak about ‘spiritual resurrection (life) of heart/mind/spirit’, such as, Romans 11:15, 13:11; 1 Corinthians 15:34; 2 Corinthians 1:9, 5:14; Ephesians 2:1,5, 5:14; Colossians 2:12,13,20, 3:1,3; 1 Timothy 5:6; Hebrews 6:1, 9:14; James 2:17,26; 1 Peter 2:24, etc.

... when the last trump sounds and time on this earth shall be no more. Then reunited with their eternal spirit they will once more be complete living soul, fitted for everlasting life on the new earth.

Revelation 10:5-7 (KJV) And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
It does not make sense that time would come to an end on the Earth, especially if people are going to have everlasting life on Earth. Modern translations more correctly translate Revelation 10:6 as there being no more delay, e.g. (WEB):

(6) and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay,

The Cambridge Bible Notes say:

that there shall be time no longer: but] i.e. as we say, “there shall be no more time lost, but” …: “there shall be delay no longer.” It is not in harmony with the usual language of Scripture to suppose that finite “time” is meant to be opposed to eternity.

Yes, I am aware that some translations say "there shall no longer be delay". It really doesn't matter whether it is no longer delay or time no longer it still means the Messianic Gospel Age has accomplished its purpose. The Kingdom of God in heaven is complete so there shall be no longer delay/time because in the days when the seventh angel sounds "the mystery of God should be finished" the completion of the Kingdom of God in heaven because the last Gentile has come in, salvation of mankind is complete. The world to come is at hand, which is altogether of eternity, and beyond all the things that are in time, including time itself.

Revelation 10:7 (KJV) But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Peter, like Paul, knew that Jehovah's servants before Christ would be resurrected on earth after Christ's brothers were glorified by being resurrected to go to heaven:

1 Pet. 1:10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the undeserved kindness meant for you made a diligent inquiry and a careful search. 11 They kept on investigating what particular time or what season the spirit within them was indicating concerning Christ as it testified beforehand about the sufferings meant for Christ and about the glory that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were ministering, not to themselves, but to you, regarding what has now been announced to you by those who declared the good news to you with holy spirit sent from heaven. Into these very things, angels are desiring to peer.
Jesus Christ not only made a pact with his brothers so that they would reign with him in heaven (Luke 22:28-30), but he also spoke of the righteous who would inherit the earth.

Matt. 5:5 Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.

To say that, he had to be convinced that the earth would never be removed from its place... and that is precisely what many biblical texts, that Jesus surely knew very well, teach.

Psal. 78:69 He made his sanctuary as enduring as the heavens,
Like the earth that he has established forever.
... 119:90 Your faithfulness is through all generations.
You have firmly established the earth, so that it continues to stand.
