God never promises to remove us from trial or tribulation, but only to walk with us through it. As Psalm 23, says:
And as Jesus ~ Who is the Good Shepherd ~ says:
Grace and peace!
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever."
And as Jesus ~ Who is the Good Shepherd ~ says:
"And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

There is a difference between the great tribulation in Matthew 24 and the tribulation principle in John 16.33.
And there is a difference between the nature of the tribulation near the end of the age from all the tribulation leading up to it; it will be of a much greater scope than any preceding ("...then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be" ~ Matthew 24:21).
