so based on that if you do not follow God's commandments, you can forget about salvation, because you never attained it..
That's right, we never attained it because it was a gift from God to start with. We are no longer under the law but under the Grace covenant. Looks like we're covered by grace after all. Amen.
Matt 5:17 NIV “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets;

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
John 1:16-17 NIV Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Rom 6:14 NIV For sin shall not be your master,
because you are not under law, but under grace.
1 Cor 9:20-21 NIV To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law
(though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law.

This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."

Gal 5:1-6 NIV It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. 2Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4
You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value.
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
Eph 2:7-9 NIV in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9
not by works, so that no one can boast.

Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
Heb 9:11-28 NIV - The Blood of Christ
Heb 10:1 NIV
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
