So do you have Scottish / tartan connections or heritage? :)
I am half Indian with a heavy dose of Scottish. Sept Noble of the clan McDonald.

On my dad's side the family was first in settlers in Kentucky.

In other words, I am American born and bred to extreme. My family traces back to at least 1700.

So I guess you also have native American heritage. Up here ppl say First Nations, although there is what is called the Indian Act also.

There was a lot of immigration from Scotland up here also.

You talked about dancing; and often the kilt is worn.
In Scottish Country dancing which the Queen is fond of when she's at Balmoral. I never done it.

I was born and raised in Indiana - land of Indians.

My name is the dit name meaning leader of 10. So that pushes the family back to the Hudson Bay Company era.

Goodness. I don't know my genealogy beyond my grandparents.

Interesting; and the Hudson Bay Company was virtually the government in those days...

Indiana interests me; from William Harrison to Dan Quayle... :)

The Indianapolis Capitol building is fine looking.

When we went up for the Braemar games we went onto the Balmoral residence by mistake. We were politely asked to leave.
A while ago a glider got blown off course and landed in frot of The Queen taking tea outside Balmoral Castle.

The Establishment found a polite way to take care of the situation....

I think part of the estate is open to the public except when the Queen is in residence.

My mother was Welsh and my husbands grandfather was Scottish. He is entitle to wear the Thompson tartan. But never has. All that with the kilt and everything is so expensive but I do like to see a handsome man in a kilt, especially with the dress jacket etc.
You have roots all over the British Isles, then.

Genealogy can be very absorbing, although sometimes things can crop up in one's family past which one never knew, and which some might think would have been better kept unknown (not that I'm suggesting this would be the case in your family...).
