I am half Indian with a heavy dose of Scottish. Sept Noble of the clan McDonald.

On my dad's side the family was first in settlers in Kentucky.

In other words, I am American born and bred to extreme. My family traces back to at least 1700.

So I guess you also have native American heritage. Up here ppl say First Nations, although there is what is called the Indian Act also.

There was a lot of immigration from Scotland up here also.

When I told a Scottish girl my mother's maiden name she instantly knew it was a Sept, meaning sub clan of clan McIntosh.

So I'm actually entitled to wear two tartans.

A while ago a glider got blown off course and landed in frot of The Queen taking tea outside Balmoral Castle.

The Establishment found a polite way to take care of the situation....

My mother was Welsh and my husbands grandfather was Scottish. He is entitle to wear the Thompson tartan. But never has. All that with the kilt and everything is so expensive but I do like to see a handsome man in a kilt, especially with the dress jacket etc.

Genealogy can be very absorbing, although sometimes things can crop up in one's family past which one never knew, and which some might think would have been better kept unknown (not that I'm suggesting this would be the case in your family...).
