To your shame, then. That speaks towards your character.yes I'll be perjorative
The vine is not the problem.Your view makes the Vine look bad, its the Vines responsibility to produce the fruit
This is the question you ask: (don't know why it didn't get copied)question:
If this is what you believe,,,Yes, that seems to be the case with some. We can bandy back and forth pejorative words like these, but why? Seriously, why? What is the purpose other than to elevate one's self in their own eyes?
You take these posts as opportunity to put others down, and there is no fruitfulness in that.
Neither is there fruitfulness in you and I endlessly repeating the same interpretations that the other disagrees with. I know your view at this point, and by now you should know mine.
Will I change your mind?
Will you change my mind?
Is it that you want me to keep responding to you so you can keep getting your digs in? That's not good for you. I'm not planning to enable you.
So no thanks.
Much love!
No worries, I can put you on ignore so I'm not tempted to reply.then you should stop posting to me immediately...
Yeah it does and my character says people shouldn't listen to you because you don't speak biblical truth. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings but you can't "shame" into not saying what's true. Your pretend "disappointment" over my responses is meaningless. To your shame, then. That speaks towards your character.
Much love!
Is that what you think? This isn't an emotional experience for me. I'm just pointing out your behavior. But very few people are willing to honestly look at themself.I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings
Yeah you point out my behavior to avoid the point, that the bible doesn't say what you claim it says. You'll be judged by the standard by which you judge others. Is that what you think? This isn't an emotional experience for me. I'm just pointing out your behavior. But very few people are willing to honestly look at themself.
Much love!
Actually it was to confront you concerning your unChristian attitude, but I see you are not having any of it.Yeah you point out my behavior to avoid the point
It's also unchristian to claim the Bible says things that it doesn't say. I don't expect you to listen because this isnt my first rodeo with people who do what you do to scripture. You're certain you have the authoritative understanding of Scripture and then preach how others need to check themselves, but you folks don't ever take your own advice. I don't have patience for that and that's my shortcoming but i don't tolerate the sanctimonious attitudeActually it was to confront you concerning your unChristian attitude, but I see you are not having any of it.
Even you just double down. Most do. It's sad, but what's to be done? I pray for you! But there is no point to our dialoging. I'm only interested in intelligent and respectful discussion. I'm not saying you are not intelligent, but it's hardly a smart course to continue the way you have been.
Let me ask you this. . . How is it that you would expect others to listen to you when you make it clear you have such poor opinions of others?
Much love!
Its not about hating ones brother it's about hating that brothers behavior. See the difference? Speaking an untruth is an action, claiming the bible says things it doesn't is an action. Hate the sin, love the sinner.Maybe one of the key words here is to abide?
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
— 1 John 3:15
I’ll look and see if I can find anything about hatred being part of the fruit of the spirit. Its not about hating ones brother it's about hating that brothers behavior. See the difference? Speaking an untruth is an action, claiming the bible says things it doesn't is an action. Hate the sin, love the sinner.
Yeah I see now....we shouldn't hate sin. Got it.I’ll look and see if I can find anything about hatred being part of the fruit of the spirit.
From what I’m seeing Jesus is explaining to them that in order to be his disciples they must hate those of their own household.Yeah I see now....we shouldn't hate sin. Got it.
Yes.No worries, I can put you on ignore so I'm not tempted to reply.
Much love!
Its sad you teach Jesus failed in His Vine responsibility to make His branches fruitfulIt's good to know that you accept the teachings of the reformed/calvinist beliefs.
Yes sir.
In the reformed and Calvinist theology God is responsible for what man does or does not do.
Thanks for admitting this...
some Calvinists find a problem with admitting this.
The rest of Christianity accepts what the bible teaches.
It teaches that THOSE IN CHRIST that do NOT bear fruit...
will be cut away.
This is what Jesus said....not me.
Here is the scripture again:
John 15:2
2“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away....
No need to explain anything...
Jesus has made a very clear statement.
The branches IN CHRSIT (a born again believer is IN CHRIST)
that DOES NOT BEAR FRUIT....is cut away.
And burned....see verse 6.
Jesus repeats this here:
Luke 13:6-8
6And He began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any.
7“And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’
8“And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; 9and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’”
Its the vines responsibility to make fruit, and Jesus is the True Vine, and you have Him losing branches. You probably would blame Him as the Great Shepherd of the Sheep in losing some of His Sheep He is responsible for as wellThe vine is not the problem.
The vine gives life to whoever wants life.
The problem is the branches that DO NOT bear fruit.
If the branches are IN CHRIST.....they should be producing fruit.
But some,,,,on these very Forums, state that it is not necessary for us to bear fruit.
But some....on these very Forums will state that producing fruit IS A SIN because we're either:
1. Trying to save ourselves.
2. Trying to help God.
This is the question you ask: (don't know why it didn't get copied)
do the branches depend on the vine for fruit
Yes sir.
The branches depend on the fine for fruit.
The vine is what helps the branches to produce fruit.
IF
The branches do NOT produce fruit....
that branch (IN JESUS...THUS A SAVED PERSON) is taken away.
Because we have free will BF...
to either produce fruit or NOT produce fruit.
To produce fruit we need to be in the vine.
If we do NOT produce fruit....God takes the branch (the saved person) away.
Simple to understand if we leave our preconceived notions out of the scriptures.
This is because your calvinist in your belief system. Its the vines responsibility to make fruit, and Jesus is the True Vine, and you have Him losing branches. You probably would blame Him as the Great Shepherd of the Sheep in losing some of His Sheep He is responsible for as well
