The kingdom of God is among us, it is made up of Christ's followers.

The church is visible...but the kingdom of God is not.

Luke 17: 20 Some Pharisees asked Jesus when God's kingdom would come. He answered, "God's kingdom isn't something you can see.

It is not a building, like the temple was, nor is it a race of people who can be picked out in a crowd. The Kingdom of God was not going to conquer visibly, with swords drawn and legions ready. The kingdom of God conquers through hearts, changing and transforming people to form his Kingdom, the Church of Christ.

Another reason to distinguish between the Church (which is a Building) and the Kingdom of God (which is a kingdom). Please note below that in the future the whole earth will become the Kingdom of God.

DANIEL 7
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
