He only told His closest disciples to buy a sword, those who were accompanying Him to Gethsemane. And I believe it was meant to only be a deterrent so they wouldn't get scooped up along with Him.....because when Peter actually used the sword, how did Jesus respond?
Clearly we are instructed in the word to be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves.
what a person loves is what they will defend and point too and do .
some talk often of and hope in politics and leaders of men .
Others , though few they be , always go about pointing to Christ , HIS gospel , His words
and remind all to hope not and trust not in men .
but then some love the earthen
and few love the heavenly . whatever kingdom one is trul y of , HIS HEART will show it .
If affections are above then it will clearly be seen .
If affections are upon the earthen then it will be clearly seen .
BUT WHAT IS CLEARLY KNOWN by the sheep , THANKS bE TO GOD of course ,
IS THAT IT CANNOT BE BOTH .
though many seem to beleive that is possible . IT IS N OT .
For where their affections are , THERE WILL THEIR HEART BE ALSO .
That is why we will watch them always making excuse for the evil actions of the one whose hope they have set thier heart upon .
Just a friendly reminder to us all . You can lead those whose hopes be in the earthen to water
But often when one of them b e led to the water , THEY DRINK NOT and say ALAS the water i already have is much clearer
and better than THAT . Many have a taste and a desire for the earthen . AND THUS MANY ARE NOT G ONNA MAKE IT
cause the earthen are always about changing the image of GOD , of CHRIST into something that serves
the EARTHERN agenda and or sins and etc . That one cannot save but will lead them to the day of their destruction .
