One thing is true. Do not ascribe what comes from God to evil spirits. You do this at your peril. I certainly would tread very carefully here and be very certain of myself before I posted such comments.
Thanks for your concern, but according to the Word,if what people speak today is the tongues of the Holy Spirit I would understand every word,Ive heard a lot of babbling, and understood not one syllable, with that said I stand by my post 100%.What is important in speaking with the tongues of the Holy Spirit is that everybody understood everything that was spoken. There was no confusion, or strange sounding mutterings, and the subject that was spoken was given to all individuals with equal understanding no matter what race, or tongue they spoke in, for it was understood in the exact dialect of that individual. If you belong to a church that demands that you imitate such a thing, that is up to you and your conscience. However, if you do try to do it, ask yourself, Who is understanding what I am saying? That is the key to knowing if it is of the Holy Spirit. Those listening in the streets of Jerusalem were not Christians, but devout Jews [unbelieving Christians and completely devoted to the law]. What is important is that you are sincere in what ever you do. The Holy Spirit usually can read in a person by their words and by a person's actions, and how they react to those things around them. We are not to judge a person's sincerity in whatever they do without discernment. Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot discern evil spirits, and this is important for that is what we will be fighting against in these final days before Christ's return. Be sincere in what you do. I Corinthians 12:4 "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit."Though there are many different gifts that are placed within each Christian, there is only one Holy Spirit of God. There are many evil spirit that are from Satan, and there are also many lying and deceiving spirits. It is a lot easier to listen to Satan's spirits and be deceived when you have no discernment of the spirits. It is because of this that discernment is important, for you are led by the Spirit when you seek out the instruction with the Word of God. The Holy Spirit will never go against God's Word, and when there is a conflict between what a spirit has said and what the Word of God says, then the spirit you have been listening to is not of God. Evil spirits or demonics know God's Word also but they twist the truth, just like their leader Satan twists the truth to make it a lie. Many times the listening to evil spirits can give you such a thrill and warm glow inside that you feel that they just have to be of God, when in fact evil spirits will tell you whatever it takes to win you over. Satan and his demonics want to win you into their camp. Just as much as there are diversities of gifts, we are to educate ourselves concerning those gifts. The word "tongues" is "languages", and God give many the ability to understand more languages then one. We all have our basic family language from birth that we were taught from our home, and the other languages must be learned for the same basic level of understanding. The great commission is to take the gospel of Christ into the whole world. There is just one problem to this, and that is that the people of the world speak thousands of different languages and tongues and dialects.
Paul spoke in tongues. Many others do as well. Most of them use it in private and for no other purpose but to glorify God and to enrich their prayer life. This does not benefit the enemy in any way.
Paul spoke many different languagesI Corinthians 14:2 "For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."The reason that it is saying that if you do go out and speak in a place where everyone is of another language then only God would understand; is that only God and the Spirit of God understands all languages. He caused the confusion into the languages at the tower of Babel, and when the true tongue of the Holy Spirit is spoken, it will be as it was at Pentecost. This tongue shall be spoken again when the Elect are brought up to give account of themselves, as recorded in Mark 13:11. When the Holy Spirit's tongue goes forth, every person around the world will listen to it and understand it at the same time and in the very dialect of their neighborhood. This is what is called the "cloven tongue". The "cloven tongue" needs no interpreter for it comes directly from the Holy Spirit. I Corinthians 14:14 "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful."If you pray in a language that your mind doesn't understand, then of what benefit is your prayer. You uttered words that mean nothing, and have created nothing but noise. When you pray to the Father, know exactly who you are praying to and for what purpose. However if you are just muttering words and sounds that have no meaning, your prayer is in vain. In short, you have to be able to communicate, before people know what you are saying. Remember that this chapter is dealing with teaching those that are foreigners to you, and those that do not speak your language. The ability to communicate is a gift from God. I Corinthians 14:18 "I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:"Again Paul is referring to the many languages that he spoke. Paul was a Roman, and spoke Latin, and as a Jew he was trained in the Hebrew, Chaldee and the Greek. His father came from Tarsus which is in Turkey of today, and that gave him another tongue, so we see that Paul was fluid in many languages through his home and training.I Corinthians 14:19 "Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue."Even though I can speak many different languages, when I am in the church I would rather speak five words conveying my understanding to you, than ten thousand words in a language that you do not understand. The object of this chapter is "to teach others" of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and if you can't convey the words with complete understanding, how can you teach anything? You simply cannot. It is only when the believer hears the words with understanding that they become lifted by your teaching. The bottom line is, tongues as spoken by people today is not that which is taught in the Word, therefore I can say with confidence that it is not of God
