Revelaion is one of the easiest books of the bible to interpret. The main ingredient,is that you first need a working understanding of the other 65 books first in order to understand what is being said.
Second you have to know when John is using symbols to illustrate. One thing to remember is that symbol are a faint essence of something even bigger or worse than the symbol used.
The book is written chronological order as well.
Jesus told John to write the things that were, the things that are and things to come. Those 3 things.
Chapter 1 tells of things that were. Chapters 2 and 3 tell tell of things that are(church age) Chapters 4 through 20 tell of things to come.
Chapter 4 and 5 deal with rapture of the church. From chapter 6 on,the tribulation and ultimately the millennium.
God bless

The Book of Revelation has not been written in chronological order as you have claimed.

John wrote what he saw in the order that they were revealed to him, but they were not necessarily presented to him in the chronological order of when they would occur.

Oh well, another one bites the dust.
