To believe in once saved always saved one must change how Gal 6:7,8 reads to:

God CAN be mocked, we we sow is NOT what we reap, if one sows to the flesh they shall NOT reap corruption, and if one sows to the Spirit they shall NOT real life.
I believe that eternal security and consequences for our behavior are compatible.
You seem to be in peril on both accounts.

I don't know about you, but I grew up in a church that taught that EVERYBODY deserved an eternity of damnation. "All have sinned" and all that.

In retrospect, that doesn't seem like the healthiest worldview, whether it's true or not. Loving oneself seems to be a pre-requisite for loving anyone or anything else, and heaping guilt on ourselves undermines that.
Absolutely agree. We are a temple when the Holy Spirit is in us. So,I can't imagine hating ourselves when we first know that.

I also don't believe we suffer for eternity.

Because God said otherwise of himself and his heart for humanity.

Here's some passages the eternal security proponents can't explain away.

They must ignores these passages to keep their position.

Romans 11:21,22 - For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

2 Peter 2:20 - For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

James 5:19,20 - Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

When a Christians error4s from the truth, they have turned away from the Lord and have become sinners once again and they are no longer in right standing with the Lord until they turn away from their sin and confess their sin to the Lord so they can have mercy

Proverbs 28:13 - He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

There's no mercy for those that do not confess and turn away from their sin because God is not mocked what we sow is what we reap and if we sow to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption (Gal 6:7,8)

Those teaching eternal security are mocking God
Those attempting to call Jesus fraud and liar are far worse.

On the other hand we have the Good Shepherd that leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one and bring them back.

Seems He has us coming and going.

[
It also says,of all the Father gives him he shall lose none.

Those he does lose he recognized and why that is also. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they all are not of us.

I think that group in the world that insists the people of Christ are not eternally saved are intending to manifest fear and doubt into any or all who would believe them.

Think on that. They in their hubris are insisting they know more than what Jesus said. And that Jesus died to bring revocable Salvation.

Which in truth cannot be Salvation at all . You aren't saved from something if you can fall back into loss.

Maybe that's their intention. To lead us to believe we aren't really saved at all.

I dont notice.

Im not here to collect "likes"........

You should try that one day.....as it'll be something brand new for you to experience. @St. SteVen

Would you mind being a little more smug and cynical?

Just when I think I couldn't be any more convinced that putting you on my ignore list would harm the flow of discussion in the slightest, you outdo yourself.

A control issue.
They want us to think salvation is only on their terms.
Obey or burn.

[
And they live that. If they do actually believe in Jesus. You never really know when someone speaks falsehood about him.

Hypocrisy is a sign too. They will defend being implied to be false by claiming,.we cannot know who is in Christ. Which isn't what scripture says, btw.

Then, when the topic later turns to President Trump those same ones will insist they know he isn't a Christian.

Someone here recently observed of a member that they need to keep their mind on Christ.

I see false teachers as I tent on distracting us from that very thing.
The bonus we in Christ have? He is within us too. Even when we pay, pray, attention to the distractions we are still and eternally secure in Him.:shine:

I think they hate that.
:disappointed:
