There are some Christians that teach a gospel of mental repentance and conversion only. They say that now we agree with the Bible, that all sinning is indeed against God, and that there is no good to be had in sinning with the devil. While this is certainly true, it does not mean that any sinning we may now do, is no longer condemned by God, simply because we now we don't enjoy it so much.
It says the Christian fornicator and drunkard, is not judged as any other fornicator and drunkard, because unlike other sinners, we don't enjoy it as much and do it as often as we used to.
It's the gospel of repenting of having pleasure in sinning, not of repenting of sinning itself. Its the gospel where Christ comes to take all the fun of sinning, not to take away all sinning from our souls and life.
So long as we're not enjoying sinning while doing it, we're not guilty of it. That of course is the religion of man, where we mentally convert from seeking sin and enjoying it, to only sinning without liking it. No religion of man teaches repenting of sinning and not doing it. That is only the pure religion of Jesus Christ:
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
King Saul did not enjoy breaking the commandment of the Lord, but he was still removed from the kingship and died in his sin. And of course Judas the chosen apostle of the Lord did not enjoy the sinning against Him, and even hanged himself over it. But Jesus calls him the son of perdition, not a son of God. (John 17)
