Jesus said pluck out the eye if it causes you to stumble and sin. But he also said If it's in your mind to do, so you’ve already committed the sin.
We have to be transformed by the renewing of our minds DAILY.

That is what empowers the "sinning and confessing" failed discipleship issue that most believer have that they believe is "real christianity".
Its not.
Its exactly the opposite.

Its by understanding The Grace of God, that is to realize who you are become "in Christ" as "a new Creation", that you then begin to exist here.

= "i am crucified with Christ".......and now because i am 'IN CHRIST">.... "i can do all things through Christ" because "Jesus always gives me the Victory".

See that?
That means when you stop trying to be like Christ in your flesh, God starts empowering you to be like Christ by His Spirit.

Thats the GRACE of God.

Satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour....sin always starts with a thought. Why do we need God's armor in Eph 6 then?
We are fleshly ppl and will be while sin's in the world. Jesus told his disciples to take up their cross daily.

Taking up your Cross wont keep you from carnality, as denying your flesh is about as useful as fasting.
Its quite similar actually.....but, it wont deliver you from lust.
And fighting the devil wont keep you from lust.

Lust is a heart issue, a inner man issue....., which breeds works of the flesh outwardly, or what you think of as "sin", .
So, this has to be removed, not restrained or resisted as all that does is make your lust more hungry.

Take someone who is a alcoholic ... And they stop....... a month, a year......then one day they drink for 24 hrs because that lust = that need is really hungry.
or,
someone who is a porn addict. They stop......a year.......2.....then one day, they go to the sites and 2 days later they finally sleep.
See that LUST?
It got HUNGRY over that 2 yrs.

God does not offer a rulebook to deal with your lust. God offers DELIVERANCE through the Blood of Jesus.

Christianity, is spiritual, and not our self effort to try to do it.

Does this mean dying to the flesh daily?

Jesus' disciples were in a country that persecuted followers of Jesus, that is what it means. Deny you're desires for a good life and serve Jesus in risking your lives on the cross. It is a message to them of old times.

Why did the apostle Paul tell us to put the armor of God on for protection? I do believe he used God's armor as well as transforming and renewal of the mind.

God's armor is Spiritual.

Yes I do understand this is all Spiritual very much so. And also doesn't sin always start with a thought? Hence the reason for God's full armor for protection? Of course it's all Spiritual!

Lust indeed begins with a thought . Sin indeed begins with a thought .
The flesh is the flesh and it is subject to sin my friend .
The question is , do we obey the thought or do we obey THE SPIRIT
which if one has CHRIST would alarm us to the evil .
I mean lets face it , before i came to faith in Christ
I had all sorts of thoughts , that at that time did not seem evil to me .
BUT NOW DO .
And here is a serious thought to ponder on as well .
THE NEXT time a thought pops into our heads like other religions or anyone
does not have to BELIEVE IN CHRIST , DONT BELIEVE THAT LIE .
Cause it is a LIE .
SEE the problem i see is that many who profess to be christains will justify their evil
and make the claim its covered by the blood of CHRIST .
I also see a huge lie growing which says and does teach that even if ones faith is not in CHRIST
so long as THEY DO certain good things they must know GOD . A LIE INDEED .
NOW for the truth .
Number one , YE MUST BELIEVE in CHRIST , that alone is what is NECESSARY .
From that will come all that is needed to crucify .
The problem is many follow another jesus , they follow men and their ideals , NOT JESUS and the TRUTH
not JESUS and the SPIRIT .
We got folks trying to teach others how to crucify the flesh or how to pick up their cross
WHO DONT EVEN KNOW CHRIST . WHO DONT EVEN KNOW the TRUTH
WHO rather preach the social inclusive gospel . This lamb can smell them and their doctrine a mile away .
THE NUMBER ONE THING that ALL SHOULD TEACH IS , YE MUST BELIEVE IN CHRIST JESUS
and THEN TEACH ALL HE DID SAY . REMIND with ALL teachings of the apostels in that bible .
OH DEAR i just said the B word . Oh man i just said the word BIBLE .
Today folks act like the BIBLE is a four letter foul word . BUT i say if one follows a spirit , a jesus , a christ
a god , a hope that contradicts the JESUS in said bible , the TRUTH the apostels left us in said bible
THEY FOLLOW WIND and shall hear i NEVER KNEW YOU .

HE who LOOKS UPON A WOMAN TO LUST AFTER HER .
We dont have to entertain the lustful thought .
The SIN that sins is not the same as HE who sins .

KEep that in mind . YES Your right , it wont keep the evil from popping into our minds . THAT IS GONNA HAPPEN
but IT CAN KEEP US from being SLAVES TO IT . FROM OBEYING IT .
See that lust , IF IT POPS UP , YA AINT GOTTA OBEY IT .
Sure a man might stop watching porn . THEN if the THOUGHT TO DO SO arises after two years
HE can still kill it by not DOING IT . LEARN . LEARN from the SPIRIT and heed not men who make us slaves to our lusts .
AND if any does err , if any slips , REBUKE THEM . Dont just make it seem like we are helpless to sin .
THIS IS THE PROBLEM IN THE CHURCHES and its why they are now , AT THE END hour becoming slaves
to another gospel of a love so false it will never save .
IF WE DONT KNOW CHRIST we are DOOMED .
And far too many are thinkin they know HIM , but they only know the christ their preachers preached them .

The context for the "baptism with fire" makes it clear that this is about damnation. It has nothing to do with either John's baptism or the baptism with the Holy Ghost.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. (Mt 3:10-12).

What is "unquenchable fire" other than the fires of Hell -- the Lake of Fire? "Trees" bringing forth evil fruit (people living in sin and wickedness) are cast into the fire. "Purging" means cleansing. "Chaff" means that which is useless.

This "fire" has been taken out of context and made into something good when it is in fact eternal damnation.

I liked your other comment, but the issue of "fire" needs clarification.

All fire is not a reference to damnation, for there is also "holy fire", and it is even written that "God is a consuming fire."

Thus, water baptism is a reference to being "born of water", meaning born of flesh; while baptism by the Holy Spirit (Christ), indeed refers to baptism by "fire", which is the "consuming" of the flesh. Therefore, we must be "born of water and the Spirit" both.

1) "And he said to them all," (elegen de pros pantas) "Then he said to (them) all," to all His disciples, Mat_16:24; and apparently with the crowd, Mar_8:34.

2) "If any man will come after me," (ei tis thelei opiso mou erchesthai) "If anyone wishes to come after me," desired with a priority or first place will to come after me, to pattern His life according to my will, Mat_16:24; Mar_8:34.

3) "Let him deny himself," (arnesasthoi heauton) "Let him deny himself," or dethrone himself, as Lord of his own life, Mat_16:24; Mar_8:34.

4) "And take up his cross daily," (kai arato ton stauron autou kath' hemeran) "And take or lift up (bear) his cross daily," personally and willingly, and voluntarily assume a willingness to suffer as a price of following or putting me first in his life, Mat_10:38; Mat_16:24; Mar_8:34; Col_3:5.

5) "And follow me." (kai akoloutheito moi) "And let him follow me," where I lead, Mar_8:34; Mat_6:33. To take up a cross was a symbol of death, at the hands of Gentiles, the Romans. It was not a method of capital punishment sanctioned by the Jews, except for Jesus, whom they rejected and despised, Joh_1:11-12; Gal_3:13; Gal_6:14. The term "daily" is used by Luke only in this connection, though each is charged to pray daily, Mat_6:11-12; Luk_18:1.
