Hi everyone, blessings to you. In this thread I would like to discuss what the phrase "THE DAY OF THE LORD" means and also its timeline in the tribulation. I do believe this day begins mid-trib right after the abomination of desolation has occurred inside the third temple, and the meaning is defined as..

1. the antichrist revealed through the abomination of desolation Matt 24:15-21 NIV
2. the mark of the beast Rev 13:16-18 NIV
3. the start of the 3.5 year great tribulation and God's wrath of trumpets and bowls poured out on earth Zeph 1:14-16 NIV, Zeph 2:2 NIV.

Psalm 27:5 NIV For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Isa 13:6-8 NIV Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. 7Because of this, all hands will go limp, every heart will melt with fear. 8Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.

Isa 26:21 NIV See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed on it; the earth will conceal its slain no longer.

Joel 2:1-2 NIV Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand— 2a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come.

Zeph 1:14-16 NIV The great day of the Lord is near—near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry. 15That day will be a day of wrath—a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness—16a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the corner towers.

Zeph 2:2 NIV before the decree takes effect and that day passes like windblown chaff, before the LORD's fierce anger comes upon you, before the day of the LORD's wrath comes upon you.

Matt 24:3 NIV As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

1 Thess 5:1-2 NIV Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

I entered into the Day of the Lord in the early eighties. Others were witness to the beginning of the Day of the Lord on Pentecost.
Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness. I am never in darkness now. I have arisen as in the Morning. I am not a child of the night.

As scriptures breathes to me...

(Act 2:16) `But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:

(Act 2:17) And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
(Act 2:18) and also upon My men-servants, and upon My maid-servants, in those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy;
(Act 2:19) and I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath--blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke,
(Act 2:20) the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord--the great and illustrious;
