When you say "This is not an explicit teaching in the Bible." Then continue with your opinion just what are non-catholics suppose to think?
1 its not a biblical teaching
2 its your opion
3 its your attempt to encourage people to step outside of go beyond what the Apostles taught.
4 this kind of extra non biblical acceptance is necessary to believe catholic doctrine.
What your really doing is encouraging other people to follow another mans opinions outside the biblical context of the Apostles and Jesus. I'll point out to others that this is a necessary first step in accepting catholic teachings, They believe the bible is incomplete and Catholics believe they hold extra biblical truths.
Looks to me like this has been your MOA for a while. When your faced with opposition or get exposed you try to turn it around, so you look like your the innocent victim of a deliberate attempt to discredit you, Accuse you. The opening sentence of your thread here. One of the main roles of the Devil is that of Accuser. If you would quit teaching non biblical doctrine or trying to add to biblical doctrine you wouldn't have people here pointing that out to you. Your not a victim you ask for it over and over again with our teachings.
I find it amazing that Hammerstone allows people to openly question or teach others to ponder or consider extra biblical teachings. Your "hell is Gods mercy thread", Just makes me shake my head and wonder why your allowed to even post such nonsense, let alone a thread topic. This thread is simply your attempt to continue the division. You know as well I do you started this thread after abandoning the conversation in in the "word of God thread". you started this thread feb 25th 7:16 pm look at the conversation in the Word of God thread. You abandoned it just before Hammerstone came in. So you started over here.
Its the same old song and dance, you try to sell a bill of goods that allows you to play the victim. Anyone that disagrees with you is called the accuser = the devils work. Opening sentence again. One of the main roles of the Devil is that of Accuser.
Nomad went threw your first post, point by point indicating its not scriptural. Your the one that insist on repeating the same game over and over. Its a Christians job to expose it for what it is. In reality this thread is an attempt to silence those voices. I can only hope the people that sponsor this site see it for what it is. I don't like having to defend Gods word on a Christian forum any more than people like reading an on going difference of fundamentals about what the word of Gods is. To most here its the bible, its the standard. You IMO would like to remove that basic precept. Last night you tried to take this topic into a new thread "camels and needles" until I called you out about it. I believe my post added to the topic, yours were directed towards me.

One of the main roles of the Devil is that of Accuser. He will stand against humanity at the last judgement. The Pharisees shared this characteristic with the Devil; there main means of attack against Jesus was to try and trip Him up with the Law. Of course, the Pharisee's knew the law backwards and forwards and used it not to edify, but condemn. Jesus came to reclaim the Law, because the Law is actually good if used to edify and viewed through the lens of love. When the Pharisees cornered Jesus and tried to accuse Him of heresy for not following the law, Jesus answered brilliantly that the law (Sabbath - in the case of the parable) was created for man, not man for the law. The law is supposed to lead us back to our true nature - before the Fall - not condemn us. It was Jesus that gave us the perfect understanding of the law when He combined it with love. The Devil on the other hand, is still active and desperately wants us to ignore Jesus and misuse the law like his Pharisee did. It is his idea for us to use the law to accuse and condemn as many people as possible - twisting our hearts with envy, anger, hatred, and bitterness. The result of using the law to condemn is to resist Jesus' sanctifying work and to instead prepare the heart for the Pit. Citizens of Hell will have two main characteristics - they will feel cheated (bitterness) and the will feel completely and utterly alone ("I AM the only one I can trust").
Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
As Christians, it is common to fall back into the trap of accusing others - trying to trip them up. Unfortunately, this is part of the Old Man / Ego / False Self / World Persona that we are called to throw off. I know I have been guilty of it, but now that I recognize the tendency, I realize that accusing others / mocking / scoffing / dismissing / name calling are all works of the Devil and have no place in a heart that desires to be sanctified in love.
Amen
