@David Taylor ,

Regarding "the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world", I personally believe the Bible teaches that all sins from every person have been removed, but that this does not mean all will be redeemed, nor does it require universalism, because Jesus also taught that you must be born again.

There is the guilt of sin, there is the corruption of sin, and there is being dead in sin. We are absolved of the guilt of sin, and can be freed from the corruption and death of sin by being made alive in Christ.

Much love!

That's interesting but nowhere does it say that the sin of each person has been removed. If they have been and some still are condemned then God is unjust and Christ's sacrifice was wasted. But Jesus said he laid his life down for the sheep, not for all.

it's one thing may christian are missing. the Lord Jesus die for our sins that are pass. supportive scripture, Romans 3:25 "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God".

now this, 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:10 "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

now if the sin is removed by the Lamb of God, then I'm on topic.

In that it says, the sin of the world, we are all part of the world.

Jesus told the Pharisees, all sins will be forgiven men . . . excepting vilifying the Holy Spirit.

Ah yes, it does say the world. But does world always mean every individual person?
Or more to the point, did Jesus die for all sins?

And when does world not mean every person, and how do you know in each case? From the linguistics? Or because of our theology?

Much love!

Matthew 12:31 "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men."

From linguistics and the whole of Scripture. Jesus said he laid his life down for his sheep only. Those are the sins He died for.

There are many times when the word world or all doesn't mean every individual person. In fact it means quite a few different things in teh book of John alone.

World System
Actual World (creation)
World Inhabitants
Etc....

I am convinced that limited atonement is error.

Limited atonement runs completely counter to God our Faithful Creator, Who IS love.
