Rev. 10: 1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

What has been sealed up till the last time? What is the mystery of God that needs finishing...or revealing? And what is the little book that is sweet to the taste yet makes the belly bitter?

What sort of idea or philosophy seems great at first but is actually really awful the more you think about it?

I'm just going to say, if God sealed away something that makes your stomach bitter, do you really want to know what it is?

I see your post @Episkopos and I worry... Will anyone even notice it if I don't comment? :p

The pot sometimes needs stirring. No rhyme, no reason... but since I'm up anyway.

What good is a fancy hat if no one pays attention?

IS your opinion that valuable? And BTW...I didn't yet comment on the OP of this thread. I just posted scripture verses and asked a few questions. Perhaps you mean to say that actually reading the biblical account has cleared things up in your own mind? Or not?

Care to comment?

Were your questions honest ones? As in things you are wondering about and genuinely want to know-- or are they just preamble for something you are wanting to teach?

What has been sealed up till the last time? What is the mystery of God that needs finishing...or revealing? And what is the little book that is sweet to the taste yet makes the belly bitter?

A mere straightening of the hat before you step on stage.

I don’t know. I have seen though, that Gods word was very sweet to me at first but it became bitter turmoil in me for many, many years. Then it turned sweet again and what was bitter to me when I was so miserable in my uncontrolled flesh is now wonderful promises and great hope.

I also see a connection to the Passover lamb having to be eaten with bitter herbs.

But as for what is sealed up, no clue?

Of course he doesn’t care to comment on the topic. Silly question. He’s only here to tear down, not to build up.

That's slightly passive aggressive. If you are going to direct comments at me, please @ me, or I might miss them.

I responded to his questions with some questions. And with a jaunty tune.

I directed some attention to him, because I know where his itches are not to mention the number in his hat.

No, it’s not passive aggressive. I was not attacking you in a hidden way that leaves room for plausible deniability. I said exactly what I meant and said it out in the open. I was speaking truth. You don’t come into his threads to discuss the topic. That’s not your purpose in following him from thread to thread. You don’t follow him around because you want to hear or talk about his op’s. Truth.

I'm definitely guessing I'm wrong here, but the only thing I can think of what the little book is, is "truth". Its sweet at first, but as we meditate on it, and self reflect, our outer carnal selves have a hard time digesting it.

I absolutely did. Sorry, but you don't get to judge motives. I came here and posted here specifically to draw attention to his OP.

You see, he got it completely backwards here>>> Darkness and light (poll)

I disagree. It took me a bit of thinking, but I understood him. Once again, even though you won’t get it, it’s one way of seeing and understanding for the carnal man and another way for the inner man. It seems backwards to you because you see it all through the lens of the carnal man.

What has been sealed up till the last time? What is the mystery of God that needs finishing...or revealing? And what is the little book that is sweet to the taste yet makes the belly bitter?

11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
The Mystery of God that should be revealed is the Rapture of the church... (1 Corinthians 15:50-57)
The seven thunders are seven Judgments of God... (Seventh seal, seventh trumpet, seventh vial, the winepress of His wrath, the Judgment of Babylon the Great and the judgment of the Harlot, and the judgment of Satan, the beast and the false Prophet)
The Little scroll is the judgment of the wheat and the tares.... It will be sweet in the mouth because of the purity of the church, but bitter as many of our close acquaintances in the church will be cast into the fire being exposed as tares.

Chapter 10 of Revelation is the pronouncement of Judgment before wrath can come. Verse 11 is the reason why many, myself included, that John Himself is one of the two witnesses (Chapter 11:1).... I Believe John was somehow translated to the future?

I see it as a part of the truth...but incomplete hence the smallness of the book. When people pick and choose preferred verses but omit the lion-share of the bible they don't like...it makes for a "little book." Half-truths and assumptions based on those half-truths.

So then to the one who is looking and consuming only the pleasing verses...it tastes sweet. But on judgment day those same words will produce bitterness in the belly...there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Why seal up the prophesy till the end? Well the fulness of the delusion would only take place 1,500 years in the future. Now, it is time to prophesy again...to get ready to repent of falling short of the full measure of the truth.

This is an interesting observation David. A final warning before the end from someone who received the prophecy directly from the Lord.

read also John 21:20-24. John is also the only Disciple that was present at the crucifixion.
