In God the Son is - the pattern for Christianity. He limited himself to become as we are..flesh and blood breathing creations of God (that is a mind thing: kenosis to become human). And in us would be a fallen sinning nature in our creation at natural birth. The new birth he would take up residence in that believer. In the evil nature would be the possibility of the worse evil mankind could imagine. Jesus would live in, and with God's creation (after the cross).
- Most powerful extension of grace that I can see.. full of grace and truth. So we have the grace, we understand the grace because we were sinners and know the grace we needed/need.
- So what is the truth of what he was doing/did/does? When you read scripture and see the wonders of God - His Holiness and all of heaven worships the majesty of who he is. You have to stand in awe of his plan to take on flesh. To leave the glory of all that was going on and take up with humanity - and know he would have to die a horrible death to fulfill the plan of God before the foundation of the world.
Just because it was the plan of the godheadbodily before the foundation of the world - it still had to take place. Remember when Jesus would pray every year at passover for the cup to pass from him, but nevertheless not my will but thy will be done!
That cup had nothing but death in it and Jesus knew it. The cup Jesus was to drink from would have every sin that was committed or would be committed.. and it also had the root of sin..which is the sin nature. God was going to lay the final death blow to sin and it would be in the body of Jesus..the spiritual cup he would drink from had all sin in it. Jesus was God's sacrificial lamb for the whole world - sin could never hold humanity helpless again. Jesus Christ would set humanity free. All they had to do was believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and the death of Jesus became their death, and his life would become their life. It to shall come with a price..it is the same price Jesus paid when he emptied himself of just being God, to being human as well. Jesus was 100% God and 100% man when he was in the world.
Kenosis! Believers must go into that same process of self-emtpyting. If you allow the mind of Christ in you - you will go through kenosis because that is what is in the mind of Christ. I know I'm saying something that may be hard to understand but if you go through it you will know what kenosis is. You will know that no man can strip away YOU. You can't strip away that you you we all have..not on your own. We all feel we are just a self for self - but by the spiritual birth of Christ in you the hope of glory! we are not just a self for self person. Always keep in mind when the father starts the process of you learning who you are.
- keep in mind Jesus made himself of no reputation. Point in that - you loose your identity but you gain proper identity! you will not give up your old identity voluntarily..it will take the process of you learning who you are.. and the father working on a son to where they can honestly say "aba father."
