That's not what it means at all. Laodocia was fed by two springs. One was the hot mineral spring from Hierapolis which was therapeutic and known for it's healing power and the other was the cool spring from Colossae which was refreshing. By the time they both got to Laodicea they were lukewarm. They were no longer therapeutic or refreshing. If we are not refreshing the body or speaking words to heal and correct it's ills then we are lukewarm. Condemning someone to hell is neither. Something to think about.Yeah, silent fence sitters will burn in Hell.
I'll stick with what Jesus said. That's not what it means at all. Laodocia was fed by two springs. Maybe you should stick with getting out of the judges seat and let Jesus determine the fate.I'll stick with what Jesus said.
Mt 7 Narrow is the way to Life and FEW there be who find it!
Churches are FILLED with luke warm members.
Maybe you should start defending the Bible. What's more important?Maybe you should stick with getting out of the judges seat and let Jesus determine the fate.
Brother, I defend the scriptures every chance I get. I am totally at odds with Steven on this issue. All I am saying is that there is a danger in being so quick to condemn one another. Jesus told us very clearly that judgement can have a boomerang effect.Maybe you should start defending the Bible. What's more important?
Good!Brother, I defend the scriptures every chance I get.
STV constantly attacks the Bible on nearly everything.I am totally at odds with Steven on this issue.
Defending the Bible is not judging! All I am saying is that there is a danger in being so quick to condemn one another. Jesus told us very clearly that judgement can have a boomerang effect.
The description above is beautifully concise. Consider the implications.God the Mother. (the maternal qualities of God)
Say what? ---
We refer to God as Father, and we should...
But what about the maternal qualities of our heavenly parent?
- Other-centered
- Self-giving
- Co-suffering
- Self-sacrificial
Thanks to Wm. Paul Young for the list.
.....and so we choose HOW we see!The qualities of other-centeredness, self-giving, co-suffering and self-sacrifice are not inherently female. Nor are they male. Our western civilization gender stereotypes are fictions.
The Bible never refers to God as Mother.
Jesus never prayed to Our Mother who art in heaven.
The Shack is a blasphemous fiction that is misrepresenting the gospel and mocking the Trinity.
- Universalism: The book suggests that all people are saved, regardless of whether they repent or trust in Jesus. Critics highlight scenes where "Jesus" implies he does not want to make people Christians, but rather wants to join them in their journey.
- Patripassianism (Father Suffering): The book depicts God the Father ("Papa") as having been crucified alongside Jesus, which violates the traditional understanding that only the Son took on human flesh and suffered on the cross.
- Modalism/Tritheism Misrepresentations: The Shack falls into modalism (confusing the three persons of the Trinity) or tritheism (depicting them as three separate gods) rather than the orthodox one God in three persons.
- Rejection of Penal Substitution: The book portrays the sacrilegious idea of God punishing Jesus on the cross as "divine child abuse". It emphasizes God's love over his justice, arguing that God does not punish sin.
- Rejection of Hierarchy in the Trinity: The Shack presents the Trinity as a "circle of relationship" rather than having any hierarchical order, which critics believe contradicts biblical, structural authority.
- Depiction of God the Father: Portraying God the Father as a woman (Papa) is seen by some as a departure from the biblical, masculine revelation of the Father.
- Diminishing Scripture: The Shack elevates personal experience and alleged “emotional healing” over the authority and inerrancy of the Bible.
I'll say it again, the problem being discussed here of separating the attributes of male and female--resulted in original sin--even when God did it.God the Mother. (the maternal qualities of God)

This is why people hate Christians. The qualities of other-centeredness, self-giving, co-suffering and self-sacrifice are not inherently female. Nor are they male. Our western civilization gender stereotypes are fictions.

So why do you hate Christians? This is why people hate Christians.
I do not know if The Shack makes people hate Christians, but it certainly might cause people to mock Christians for praising such idiotic nonsense that is contained in books like The Shack. This is why people hate Christians.
On the contrary, THIS is why people hate Christians:This is why people hate Christians.
No,I do not know if The Shack makes people hate Christians, but it certainly might cause people to mock Christians for praising such idiotic nonsense that is contained in books like The Shack.
--- PARODY ---On the contrary, THIS is why people hate Christians:
Jn 15:18-19
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
You are in agreement with the accuser of the brethren, otherwise known as satan. Don't let him continue to deceive you. Repent.--- PARODY ---
Christian: You should become a Christian.
Victim: Why on earth would I want to do that?
Christian: Huh? What do you mean?
Victim: Christians are the worst people on the planet.
Christian: No, sinners like you are the worst.
Victim: Seriously?
Christian: Yes, that's what the Bible says.
Victim: Doesn't it also say not to judge others?
Christian: I'm not judging you. That will come later.
Victim: Like when?
Christian: After you die without Christ.
Victim: Are you talking about a forever burning hell?
Christian: Yes, that's where you are going.
Victim: How would you know?
Christian: Again, that's what the Bible says.
Victim: But what do you say?
Christian: I agree with the Bible.
Victim: You are proving my point about why I don't want to be a Christian.
Christian: Why not?
Victim: I don't want to be like you.
Indeed.
Are the accusations true or false? You are in agreement with the accuser of the brethren, otherwise known as satan. Don't let him continue to deceive you. Repent.
Glad you finally confessed for all to witness. This is why people hate Christians.
