I've recently thought of this also. We tend to think that sin cannot exist in heaven but the story of 1/3 of the angels rebelling refute this. Also, unlike us here on Earth who are forced to rely on faith, the angels KNOW God exists. Yet, they still rebelled.

It is a mystery. Many people often say that about God and his word and works. But those truly are.
Along with the question, why did God let them live?

I didn't know that about Islam.
The bible refers to more than one heaven. Maybe one of those I'd there Lucifer was able to grow so full of himself?

I don’t think it is about power but intent. God exists outside of time. So, the idea of ‘reversing’ his charted course does not apply. St Augustine wrote about this.

I believe
God is greater than the opining of Augustine. He gave life to his angels and can take it away.

I think you are taking an allegorical story as literal. Frankly, we have no way of knowing if God has approved all the demonic attacks on record and it matters little to those so attacked.
