Heb 2:17 Reconciliation for the sins of the People ! 2
More scripture that collaborates and are indicative of Christ's death not being for all mens sins in general, but specifically for the People as was pointed out before in Heb 2:17
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Again the greek stating :
ὅθεν ὤφειλεν κατὰ πάντα τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς ὁμοιωθῆναι, ἵνα ἐλεήμων γένηται καὶ πιστὸς ἀρχιερεὺς τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν, εἰς τὸ ἱλάσκεσθαι τὰς ἁμαρτίας τοῦ λαοῦ:
Tas amartias, the specific sins of a specific people !
Now thats collaborated here also Heb 7:27
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's[sins]: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
The High Priest here, a type of Christ who is our High Priest Heb 4:14-15, only made an Offering for the sins of the People He represented as pointed out in Heb 2:17.
Again 1 Pet 2:24
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Our sins here does not mean all mankind individually without exception, but specifically those believers, the elect of God 1 Pet 1:1-2
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
1 Pet 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
He is said to have died for the sins of an peculiar people , a chosen generation !
The word chosen here is the same greek word eklektos as in 1 Pet 1:1-2 !
Christ's death in scripture is comparative to that of an High Priest to an specific people, and such is never general and or indefinite, but particular and definite as was the Type in the High Priest of Israel, God's Chosen People. He would only have the sins of the People of Israel on his heart before the mercy seat.
Lev 16:16,21,34
And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the
And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.
Now if Christ's atoning death was anything but definite and particular for an elected people as typified by the High Priest of Israel the OT Type, then the Gospel looses its typical ramifications as Christ's death being according to scripture for our sin 1 Cor 15:3
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
The OT scriptures in its typical significance was always for the sins of an specific people, not all the world in general, so hence a general death of Christ for the sins of all men without exception, such is not according to scripture, and therefore should be noted as a false Gospel. Remember what Paul said here Gal 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
