Christians don't seem to be aware of the fact that God's new covenant is exclusively with his chosen people. An even more shocking fact is that the only reason for this new covenant is so that God's laws may be kept. There is nothing in these texts to suggest that God has one set of laws for Jews and one for gentiles. Paul also points out that "God is not a repsecter of persons".(Rom.2:11)

When Christians claim that the Mosaic law is only for Jews, they don't seem to notice that God has only one law for the Jew and gentile alike. This is clearly stated in Exodus 12:49. Also noteworthy is that only those who are called into this new covenant will be drawn back to the Promised Land.

When Christians are made aware of this, the most common response is to simply ignore it. I find this quite odd given that the New Testament scriptures teach that the truth will set us free, and that the Hebrew scriptures have been given to the church for its edification. So why don't more Christians search the scriptures? Why do they ignore these texts that clearly contradict their doctrines?

Quote:
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make A NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it IN THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-33

Quote:
19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
20 That they may WALK IN MY STATUTES, AND KEEP MINE ORDINANCES, AND DO THEM: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. Ezekiel 11:19,20

Quote:
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I SHALL BE SANCTIFIED IN YOU before their eyes.
24 For I will take you FROM AMONG the heathen, AND GATHER YOU OUT OF ALL COUNTRIES, and will bring you into YOUR OWN land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and CAUSE YOU TO WALK IN MY STATUTES, and ye shall KEEP MY JUDGMENTS, AND DO THEM. Ezekiel 36:21-27

If it is true that those who are brought into the new covenant keep God's commandments, then it necessarily follows that any Christian who admits that they still sin, simply can't be in that new covenant until God gives them a new heart.

This fact reminds me of something Chesterton said, which is that the gospel is rejected because it is too good to be true.

So do Christians reject it because it doesn't include them, or because they can't imagine a world without sin?
