I've actually done quite a bit of research on this, and there are clear parallels between the Gailiean wedding ceremony and the pre-trib rapture. I've created an entire outline to demonstrate the parallels but it really deserves its own thread. However, I don't want to overshadow AlwaysCurious' post.

A pre-trib rapture has nothing... to do with the Jewish wedding ceremony.

Even in Christ's parable of the ten virgins, the saints are represented by those TEN VIRGINS, and NOT by the Bridegroom (Christ).

Christ's Bride...

Rev 21:2
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
KJV

Rev 21:9-10
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, "Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife."

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

I would argue that it is the template for the pre-trib rapture.

Even in Christ's parable of the ten virgins, the saints are represented by those TEN VIRGINS, and NOT by the Bridegroom (Christ).

That's not the context I understand that parable to be about, but I'll address that in a separate thread.

Please do. I welcome your input.

Thanks, I'll get to it next week.

The Rapture and Jewish Weddings

There is an interesting parallel between a Jewish wedding and the Rapture. Only a Pre-Tribulation Rapture will fit into this scenario.
Three groups of people were present at every Jewish wedding—the groom, the bride, and the invited guests.
Three groups of people will also be involved in the marriage of the Lamb.

1. The Groom—this is Jesus (2 Cor. 11:2, Eph. 5:23-27)
2. The Bride—this is the Church (2 Cor. 11:2, Eph. 5:22-32, Rev. 21:9-10)
3. The Guests—these are people saved after the Rapture (Matt. 25:1-10).

Some people have mistakenly interpreted the 10 virgins as the Church.
However, they are the guests invited to the wedding feast and are not the bride.

Three Aspects of a Jewish Wedding
There were also three aspects of every Jewish wedding. The same is true with the marriage of the Lamb.

1. The Wedding Contract (Betrothal).
This is when a person is saved (2 Cor. 11:2).

2. The Wedding Ceremony (Groom receives Bride).
This is the Rapture (John 14:2-3). Revelation 19:7 literally reads, "The marriage of the Lamb came and His wife prepared herself." The wedding already occurred at the Rapture, and now the Lamb and the Church are about to return to earth for the wedding feast. This parallels what Jesus said in Luke 12:36, "And be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding…
” (It should read “wedding,” not "wedding feast" as some versions say. Why would someone wait after the wedding feast when the celebration is over?)

3. The Wedding Feast (Guests are invited to the celebration).
This is the Second Coming (Matt. 25:1-10) "Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb" (Rev. 19:9). A bride is not invited to her own wedding! The Church was married to Christ at the Rapture and the wedding feast will occur on earth after the Second Coming. Those people saved after the Rapture (the tribulation saints) will be invited to participate in the wedding feast.

And here's one more thought to ponder…

Three Times of Redemption (“Redemption" means "to purchase.”)

1. When you were saved by receiving Jesus as your Lord, He redeemed your spirit. (1 Peter 1:18, Eph. 1:7)
2. At the Rapture, Jesus will redeem your body. (Rom. 8:23, Eph. 1:14, 4:30).
3. At the Second Coming, Jesus will redeem the earth. (Rom. 8:19-22) At this time, the curse which was placed on it because of the fall of man (Gen. 3:17-19) will be lifted (Zech. 14:11).
Excellent, but you forgot one thing.

After the contract (betrothal), the bride went her way and prepared herself to be a good bride/wife. The groom went His way to prepare a place in his fathers land. (building a place for him and his bride). When the father approved of the grooms work, He sent His son to fetch His bride (the rapture). The marriage was a quiet event in front of very few witnesses, but then the marriage feast was the major event where all (all saved) were invited!

I would argue that it is the template for the pre-trib rapture.

Of course you would argue that, if you've been deceived by Satan's false pre-trib rapture theory which is nowhere written in God's Word. As a matter of fact, Jesus made it very plain in Matthew 24:29-31 and Mark 13:24-27 that the time of His return to gather His Church is After the tribulation, not prior to it. Pre-trib's false usage of the Jewish wedding feast is specifically designed to propose a false Pre-trib Rapture.

That's not the context I understand that parable to be about, but I'll address that in a separate thread.

Of course the ten virgins parable isn't liked by pre-tribbers, because the pre-tribbers have instead accepted something else that appears to fit their false Pre-trib Rapture theory. Yet the reality of the parable of the ten virgins is... the VIRGINS represent believers on Jesus Christ, and is about the event of deception by the five foolish virgins just prior to Christ's return, and then His actual return with Jesus rejecting those five foolish virgins.

I am not interested in any proposed Pre-trib Rapture theory supposed proofs, I already know them all. So don't waste your time with that, because I will only reveal your deception away from the actual Bible Scriptures for latching onto the false pre-trib rapture theory.

Ahhhh grasshopper , not so.
All those in paradise were taken to heaven at Jesus resurrection.
Bit no, Jesus framed the great trib as " has never happened and never will".
So it is not some assumption of 2000 yrs of trib, but a specific timeframe.
You need to factor in more verses before making assumptions.
I have and you are the one assuming I called the last 2 millennia, Jacob's trouble. Jacob's trouble happens after the Second Coming, while Jesus and all His angels are on the earth.

The church's trouble has been great tribulation over the last 2 millennia. Great in length, not in intensity. The tribulation of those days will be over at the Second Coming. Jacob's trouble is Great in intensity while Jesus is judging His own house and tossing the majority into the LOF.

Showing your Biblical illiteracy I see.

You should read and heed Ezekiel 16 where God married JERUSALEM. That is where He has chosen to dwell forever.

GOD speaking of earthly Jerusalem:

Ezek 16:8
8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love;
and I spread My skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest Mine.
KJV

The expression of spreading one's skirt over a woman in Old Testament times meant marriage.

Nope.
The Jews are gathered in Rev 14:14
Jewish first fruits gathered in rev14 :3
Jewish main harvest in Rev 14:14
Mil starts at the second coming.
No "Jacobs trouble" in the mil.
Jacob's trouble is Israel's trouble.
The church is taken pretrib to the marriage in mat 24 and 25.

God turns his attention to the Jewish covenant people at the start of the gt. (Jacob's trouble)

Note that the innumerable number are martyrs that are Before the Throne. Before their entry into heaven, the martyrs were kept under the throne, they were not allowed in the general population. In fact they were told to wait a little while , because their number had not yet been fulfilled.
So we do see your 2,000 years of Martyrs, but they are not in the general population. So that pretty much tells us that you are in a flawed Doctrine

That is not true. Jesus still recognized the Aaronic or Levitical priesthood during his earthly ministry. Jesus' priesthood was separate from, but not exclusive of, the priesthood under the Law. Jesus clearly did *not* disqualify the Law during his ministry, including the priesthood, the Temple, and the sacrifices.

I would say that this is provably false, that the PreTrib view fits any biblical eschatology. In fact, the primary source of NT eschatology in Dan 7 presents the coming of the Son of Man from heaven at the defeat of Antichrist. Jesus' view of his 2nd Coming in his Olivet Discourse rejects any preliminary Coming unless it is a revelation to earth from heaven, ie Postrib. And in 2 Thes 2 Paul clearly presents the Postrib view.
Probably not false

I would say that you did not prove anything.
Jesus acted as his own priest over his own sacrifice

Jesus acted as priest in his earthly ministry.
Not of Levi.
Jesus was oh Judah. And acted as a priest.

Jesus chased the money changers out of the temple, and several times MODIFIED their law of Moses.
Jesus said " the law and the prophets were until John"
Throw all that out and we have your doctrine.
Concerning your false characterization of the pretrib Rapture Doctrine, that Doctrine is the only doctrine that fits everything. The only doctrine that correctly unpacks parable of the 10 virgins is the pre-trib rapture Doctrine.
In that parable there are several components.
In all my years of study, every single time I see a post tribber attempt to unpack that parable ,they absolutely must change one or several of the components.
In all my years of study I've never seen one post Tribber ever bring up the fact that the Antichrist kills everyone that does not take the mark.
In all my years of study I have never one time seen any post tribber ,that could actually utter the phrase from mat 24," Before the Flood". They need both lot and Noah to be removed after the burning City and after the flood.
I can go on with about six or eight more impossibilities of your Doctrine. I'm not talking about questionable components, I am saying that these doctrinal issues Reveal Your Doctrine is literally impossible.

You did not prove a thing.

So reading God's Word by my quote is "nasty" to you??

That figures, since you show your Biblical illiteracy from not having read Ezekiel 16 of what all God said about Jerusalem.

Oh the irony.

Anyone that does not agree with GOD'S WRITTEN WORD shows they are deceived, and following Satan's servants. Or those that lie against God's written Word show they follow Satan on purpose.

So if you don't know what Jesus taught about the "tares" in His parable of the tares of the field in Matthew 13, then maybe you should try reading it.
