The Result of This Thread . . . That's a fair question. This came up on another thread, what the result of the thread would be.
What exactly are we trying to do with threads we post? Each post we post? What happens after we click Submit? Are we submitted?
We either build up or tear down. Lead into captivity or lead into freedom. Make God look good or make me look good. Clarify or confuse. Inspire faith or instill doubt.
We are each of us accountable before God to . . . "let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers" (Ephesians 4, LITV).
We are admonished to monitor every word that goes out of our mouths. Those that don't contribute positively to "the needful building up", we are not to say.
The measure of our words is this . . . do we give grace to those who hear us?
They were astounded listening to Jesus, and His gracious words. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Words that do not bring grace are corrupt. Let's not use them.
Much love!
